Sept. 5, 2012. Parkway school students who placed first in the state and sixth in the world in their division of the Odyssey of the Mind competition will make a presentation Sept. 10 at 5 p.m. at the Watauga County Library. They will discuss the goals of the Odyssey program, their project and their experiences in the international competition. The event is co-sponsored by the Watauga county Library and the High Country Chapter of AAUW. The public is invited.
Their presentation will be preceded by an AAUW business meeting at 4 p.m. AAUW is and organization devoted to promoting expanded educational and career opportunities for women and girls. The group actively seeks new members. For more information, call Beth Mueller at 828-265-2963.
In October, the group will resume meeting at their regular time which is 4 p.m. on the first Monday of the month. Travels in Viet Nam will be the subject of that program which will take place at the Senior Center.
