Humans and Zombies Gather for Zombie Tag and to Help Feed Avery Families Oct. 19 at YMCA

Sept. 17, 2012. The Williams YMCA of Avery County and RAM Food Pantry present Zombiefest for Hunger on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the YMCA Chapman Center. Humans and Zombies wanted: Come out and get your “dead” on and help feed Avery families.

Admission is $3 or a box of cereal. All pasta proceeds will be donated to the “RAM Food Pantry” ministry. 

Donations are accepted. The first 50 people to make a $10 donation will get a T-shirt.

For Zombie Tag, wear your sneakers and try to outwit and outlast your friends to reach designated checkpoints, but watch out! You could become a zombie at any time.

Schedule for Zombiefest Events

5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Music, Face Painting, Costume Contest, Zombie Tag registration. Food, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

7:30 p.m. – Zombie Tag (registration required)

9:15 p.m. – Prizes awarded for best zombie costume, for the first human to meet all Zombie Tag objectives without being turned into a zombie and for the zombie who turns the most humans.
