June 19, 2012. The annual Patron’s Party, which traditionally precedes the Tour of Homes each summer in Blowing Rock, will be held Thursday, July 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Golden Hill, the home of tour chair Bo Henderson and Ed Springs in Mayview Park. Both events are sponsored by St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church in Blowing Rock.
The party is black tie optional, and food will be provided by the Gideon Ridge Inn and the Bistro Roca, courtesy of Cindy and Cobb Milner.
Tickets are $150 per person and include the cost of the home tour. They are available at the church or by mail, with a check made out to St. Mary of the Hills – Patron’s Party, at P.O. Box 1882, Blowing Rock, NC 28605. A local address and phone number, along with the names of guests, should be included. Ticket cut-off date is July 9.
Katy Thompson and Patsy Turner are co-chairing the event. All proceeds will go to fund local community outreach programs.
The Tour of Homes is scheduled for Friday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s tour features five Blowing Rock homes and various activities at the church, including the Madrigal Café; church cookbook, apron and baked goods sale; and a silent auction, Timeless Treasures, which will feature fine art and other special items.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased the week before the tour at St. Mary’s and at the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, or at the church the day of the tour.
