High Country Fireworks; Your Comprehensive Guide to The Best Spots to See Fireworks This Weekend

by Madison V. Fisler

July 3, 2014. Tomorrow is the big day! The Fourth of July holiday is finally upon us, and if you’re like many in the High Country you are anticipating plenty of food, parades, music and more. But the Fourth of July holiday wouldn’t be complete without one of the most important staples of the festivities – fireworks!

Here, we have compiled a list of the best places to see fireworks in the High Country, so you and your loved ones can find the show most convenient to you and you can spend the rest of your time just enjoying your Independence Day together.

And did you know that there are three distinct shapes of fireworks?

  1. The Fish: The fish has a main burst in the center surrounded by squiggles of light that seem to “swim” away from the big burst in the middle
  2. The Peony: The peony is the most common shape of fireworks, and is explained as a quick explosion with no tails or falling stars away from the center burst.
  3. The Willow: The willow is described as trails of stars that produce a “weeping willow” outline.
