Heritage Hall in Mtn. City Hosts ‘Swamp Gas & Shallow Feelings’ Presented by Barter Theater on April 24

April 23, 2012. On Tuesday, April 24 at 7 p.m., the Barter Theatre will present Swamp Gas & Shallow Feelings. In a town like Nashville, where everyone is full of swamp gas or hot air, smart people know that shallow feelings can’t get hurt. Get acquainted with a group of people with stars in their eyes, money in their dreams, and a song in their heart. According to director and actor Eugene Wolf, “ The songs are beautiful and melodic, and audiences will certainly come out of the theatre singing .” Advance tickets are $15 or $18 at the door, and group rates are available. Don’t miss the new Nashville Fable, sponsored by Johnson County Bank and Mountain View Nursery and Landscaping.

On Saturday, April 28, Heritage Hall is excited to be featuring the ETSU Jazz Ensemble, sponsored by Dr. Don and Carole Tarr, who will also be celebrating their anniversary. This will be a great night to come out and hear some amazing music and share this special occasion with the Tarrs. The Jazz Combo, under the direction of Martin Walters, has quickly become a much sought after performing group throughout the region. It is staffed by student musicians dedicated to the art of small ensemble jazz and improvisation. Literature performed includes all styles of jazz from straight ahead to bebop to Latin to blues and rock. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

On May 19, the legendary Doc Watson, sponsored by the TN Arts Commission, Farmers State Bank and Maymead, Inc., will share his special talent with the audience.
