June 1, 2012. Banner Elk Winery & Villa invites you to a special evening of Farm to Table Dining on Friday, June 1, at 7 p.m. Guest Chef Travis Sparks will discuss the locally farm grown or raised inspired menu and a vintner will explain the wines paired with each course.
A ticket price of $75 includes wine pairings with each course.
The four courses are firstly, fresh garden lettuce, spring onions, radishes and fresh herbs finished with a lemon and local honey vinaigrette. Next, roasted mountain trout with young kale and green tomato chowchow. Then marinated and baked free range chicken, served with sugar snap peas and oven roasted new potatoes. For dessert, a strawberry and mint cobbler with fresh cream.
