May 21, 2012. Robert Parriott, executive producer of Most Yum Productions, announces the creation of Cast Iron Cook, a new cable television program featuring cooking in the great North Carolina Mountain outdoors. Mountain Television Network of Boone, NC currently broadcasts into seventeen North Carolina Counties and two Tennessee Counties. Go to www.mostyum.com to see a listing of these counties.

According to Bryan Hyder of Country Cable and Terry Smith of Mountain Television Network, MTN will be carried by Country Cable later this year. Mitchell, Yancey and Madison Counties and the Little Switzerland community of McDowell County have access to Country Cable.

The pilot episode of Cast Iron Cook was broadcast Mother’s Day weekend. Robert Parriott, the Cast Iron Cook, prepared a pecan-crusted halibut, a lemon and flat-leaf parsley risotto and squash hush puppies using Lodge Manufacturing cast iron skillets and Dutch ovens. Go to www.mostyum.com to see the recipes cooked on the Cast Iron Cook pilot episode. Lodge Manufacturing Company of South Pittsburg, TN and The Country Gourmet of Foscoe (near Banner Elk) NC are the current sponsors of Cast Iron Cook.

Thirteen Cast Iron Cook programs will be broadcast by Mountain Television Network on Friday evenings at 7:30 beginning June 1 through August 31, 2012. Each Cast Iron Cook episode will be filmed outdoors at Mostyum Studio near Spruce Pine, NC by the Cast Iron Cook himself. Robert Parriott admits that,”This is a real exciting challenge for me to film myself cooking outdoors, using cast iron cookware over an open fire.”

According to Robert Parriott, “The Cast Iron Cook TV program concept is to promote outdoor cooking with grills and campfires using cast iron cookware. And cast iron cookware is very useful during tailgate activities as well.”

The recipes from each Cast Iron Cook episode will be available for viewing at www.mostyum.com.
