Xterra Trail Races to Run on Emerald Outback Saturday, July 28

Volunteers are still needed forJuly 28 to help serve as course marshalls for the Xterra 15k/5k trail races to be held in the Emerald Outback. Contact Daniel Scagnelli if you have any interest in volunteering your time.

Yoga at the Top of the Mountain All Summer Long

Join Marla on every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Yoga will be held at the Gazebo on Fred’s Lawn at 4:15 p.m. all summer long, weather permitting.

If there is inclement weather, Yoga will be held at Town Hall. 

CrossFit with Daniel

Join Daniel for super high intensity workout. Find out what everyone is talking about Monday, July 23 at 5:30 at Buckeye Recreation Center. 

Zumbatonics

Zumba is the biggest fitness craze and so much fun. Now kids can share in the fun. Zumbatonics is zumba for kids and is available at Buckeye Recreation Center every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. This is a great way to start your children on the road to health and fitness.

Endurance Group Hike

Hike together from Buckeye Recreation Center to Fred’s General Store. Have fun, make friends, increase endurance and get a great workout on the road to Fred’s on Saturday, July 28 at 9 a.m.

Join the Group for Fun and Fitness

Meet up Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. to walk or run the roads of Beech Mountain. You must sign up in person or call at least 24 hours before to reserve your spot for these two sessions.

Session 1 – June 16 – July 28

Session 2 – August 4- September 15

New Summer Classes

Check our website for information on all of the wonderful new summer classes that will be presented this season. Look for “Stretch and Tone,” Bosu, Bands and Balls, Booty Bar Blast and many more exciting group fitness classes.

Quick Fitness Tip

Did you know that the current nutritional recommendations are to limit your daily intake of sodium to no more than 2,300 mg a day or 1,500 mg for people with hypertension or those over age 51? Read labels and watch your intake of salt. There is hidden salt in many prepared foods. Be a smart nutritional consumer.

Brick Oven Donates to Buckeye Summer Camp

This past Thursday, the Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria gave back to the local community by supporting the Buckeye Summer Camp. The campers enjoyed multiple rounds of putt-putt golf and free beverages. The Buckeye Camp Staff and Campers would like to thank the Brick Oven Staff for such a wonderful experience and great time.

Calling all Campers! Come out to the Buckeye Summer Camp for a fun-filled week of activities that celebrate the beauties of nature.

Congratulations to Fred Fussel for his dedication and enthusiasm towards reaching his fitness goals. He is the member of the week. Become the member of the week by showing consistency in your workouts and class attendance.
