County, Town Partner for Boone’s Winter Farmers Market to Open Indoors on Dec. 5

PHARMN is pleased to announce that Boone’s Winter Farmers Market will open indoors on December 5, 2015. Thanks to grants from the Watauga County Community Foundation and the Town of Boone’s Sustainable Task Force, residents will have access to fresh local produce, fruit, meats, baked goods, seasonally available plants and crafts during the winter and early spring.

Boone’s Winter Farmers Market will be held twice monthly, on first and third Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to noon. The Winter Market will begin Saturday, Dec. 5 and end on April 16, 2016, indoors at the Agricultural Conference Center at 252 Poplar Grove Rd. in Boone.

PHARMN will provide pro-bono staffing of the market. Hot beverages will be available.

Bill Moretz, president of PHARMN, explained “The long-term goal is to have a permanent home for a year round farmers market. Boone’s Winter Farmers Market is a step in that process.”

Moretz also thanked the Watauga County Board of Commissioners for providing the location.
