Celebrate the bicentennial of what’s been called America’s Second War for Independence by learning the story of Captain Otway Burns. His statue overlooking the picturesque mountain bearing his name proclaims “He guarded well our seas, let our mountains honor him.”

Camping gives visitors a chance to see and hear unfamiliar wildlife. Some we fear unnecessarily; a little understanding and the scary becomes a friend.

What do Black Bear, Wild Turkey, White-tailed Deer and Beaver have in common? All are conservation successes, once nearly extinct, through conservation efforts all are back and thriving.

Don’t know how to build a fire? Don’t worry; learn how to construct a fire, the various uses of campfires, and why building one is an important skill to know.
