Saturdays and Sundays

Flat Top Manor Upstairs Tours

Join a ranger for a tour of the second floor of the beautiful, former home of Moses and Bertha Cone. Tours are held Saturdays and Sundays and last about 30 minutes. (Tours will end the weekend of October 21, 2012).

Tour Days & Times: Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and afternoons at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Reservations Required: Accepted on a first-come basis by phone or walk-ins. There are a limited number of persons allowed on each tour. Please call (828) 295-3782 or sign up at the NPS information desk at the Moses Cone Manor House. (Reservations are accepted at 9 am on Friday for the weekend of the requested tour only).

 

Wednesday, June 6, 3 p.m.

“Wildflower Walk”

Join a ranger for a two-mile, moderate hike to discover the beautiful wildflowers on the Cone Estate. Meet on the front porch at MP 294. The program will last approx. 1.5 hours.

“The Misunderstood Marsupial”

Nature’s Sanitation Engineer: I am an animal that lived during the age of dinosaurs. I can eat almost anything and I have thumbs on my hind feet. Which marsupial am I? Join a ranger for this 40-minute program to find out.

 

Saturday, June 9, 7 p.m.

Black Bears: Unplugged!

Come sing, dance, and play while learning about the Parkway’s black bears. This 1-hour program is perfect for the whole family.
