Aug. 1, 2012. The Blue Ridge Fine Art Guild are set for another exciting show. This time it is the backdrop of Avery that is featured. The show BRAG ON AVERY features everything Avery from animal life, rivers, waterfalls, churches, old barns, architecture, people and scenics. There are 23 BRAG artists participating in the show. The Exhibition will open on August 6 at the Dickson Gallery at the Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville (just north of the 221 intersection with the 194).
The show will run from August 6 through until September 29, with an opening reception on August 10 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. where you can meet the artists.
The show is hosted by the Avery Arts Council and supported by the Toe River Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts organization.
The next BRAG show will be at the McElroy House in Burnsville and feature Old Tools and Blue Ridge Pottery in a double exhibition with the Yancey History Association. This exhibition will open on September 26 and run until October 27. The opening reception will be at the McElroy House on the September 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Blue Ridge Fine Arts Guild meet monthly at the Burnsville Town Center. This month they will have a demonstration by Jim Carson, the meeting will be on the Thursday 23rd of August (not the usual Monday) at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Jim Carsons work can be seen on the web at http://jimcarson.net/gallery.html.
