Silvio Martinat is the featured band for Friday, July 6. The Newland Riverwalk Summer Concert Series, sponsored by the Town of Newland and Newland Business Association, will feature free music Fridays from 6 – 9 p.m. rain or shine. Check the schedule for rock and roll, 70s and 80s jam bands or Southern rock and blues. If it rains, concerts will be at the Heritage Arts Center, located next to Sandee’s Restaurant, at the light in Newland. The concert series will showcase local Avery County talent via open mike during the 20-minute half-time break and weekly prizes are given out via drawings and trivia questions.
