Aug. 6, 2012. The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s ninth Summer Concert in the Park will be on Thursday, Aug. 16. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Tate-Evans Town Park stage behind Bank of America on Highway 194. Bring your chairs or blankets and coolers. Food will also be available for purchase at the concert. Raffle tickets can be purchased for prizes as well as for a cash drawing. Admission is free.
About the Band
Dallas Reese is a Band leader/musician, singer/songwriter, DJ/Voice-actor/ who grew up just outside of Charlotte in Concord, NC. He has been performing at thousands of events around the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic since graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in Communications.
Along with playing thousands of gigs, Dallas has spent 20 years working in radio across the country, spending time at WRFX Charlotte, NC, WGFX Nashville, TN, WCMC Raleigh, NC, WTQR Greensboro, NC, WESC Greenville, SC, WMJJ Birmingham, AL, WCYK Charlottesville, VA, and WKKW Morgantown, WV.
Dallas performs dueling piano shows, duos and full-band gigs across the Carolinas. He also DJ’s for corporate events, weddings, fairs and festivals. Most recently he was MC/DJ for the Mountain High Barbecue Festival in the NC mountains. And he’s DJ’d a full slate of weddings and private events.
Dallas’ current band includes Greensboro, NC native Rob Massengale on bass/vocals, Connecticut native and Durham, NC resident Doug Carger on drums/flute and vocals, and Wisconsin native and Charlotte, NC resident Ray Misebauer on guitar/vocals.
Dallas currently does a weekday afternoon radio show 2pm-6pm on 91.7 WSGE, Charlotte, NC. Streaming online at: www.wsge.org.
Dallas also has played many festivals throughout the Carolinas including: Gastonia’s Fish Camp Jam, The York Summerfest, Matthews Stumptown Festival, The Dilworth Jubliee, Center Cityfest, Springfest, The Carolina Musicfest, The Kernersville Summerfest, Boonville Heritage Days Festival, Pickens, SC Azalea Festival, The Uncle Sam Jam (High Point, NC) and various corporate gigs for NASCAR, Lowes Home Improvement Corporation, Merrill Lynch, Enterprise Rental Cars, TCI Logistics, Novant Health and others. He’s played colleges like William & Lee, Davidson, Wofford, Presbyterian, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, Duke, Appalachian State University, UNC Wilmington, College of Charleston, University of South Carolina, University of Georgia, Clemson, Winthrop, UNC-Charlotte, Queens College and many others.
