Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s Last 2012 Summer Concert in the Park Features the Whip Daddys

The Whip Daddys

Aug. 22, 2012. The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s last Summer Concert in the Park will be on Thursday, Aug. 30. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Tate-Evans Town Park stage behind Bank of America on Highway 194. Bring your chairs or blankets and coolers. Food will also be available for purchase at the concert. Raffle tickets can be purchased for prizes as well as for a cash drawing. Admission is free.

About the Band: The Whip Daddys have been performing in the Banner Elk area for over 15 years. Some of the faces have changed in that time but consistent has been the vocals of Hope Harvey, the vocals and sweet sax playing sound of Dennis Murphy, keyboards/guitar/vocals of Ed Main and vocals and instrumental spot man of Dave Calvert.

The band still actively plays at Esseola Lodge and The Apple Barn primarily on a “word of mouth” basis as we have not advertised collectively as a group in years. We’re one of the best “Wedding Bands” around. Our song selection caters from 20 to 60 year olds performing the best of Beach, Motown and Dance Music.

Contact Dave Calvert for booking information at 828-387-7605.

This week’s sponsors are Frank & Mary Watts. They are individual members and Frank is a Board of Director and serves as Vice President of the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce. They are both valued members of the Chamber and the Banner Elk community.
