March 20, 2012. BOONE — The Appalachian State University Office of Arts & Cultural Programs presents Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet performing “Moulin Rouge – The Ballet” at Farthing Auditorium on March 22 at 8 p.m.
The performance has been seen by close to 60,000 people across North America and has elicited cheers and ovations wherever it tours. Along with a rousing French soundtrack, the ballet features high-kicking choreography and a passionate story of love, ambition and heartbreak.
Atlanta INtown described “Moulin Rouge – The Ballet” as “a triumph … stunningly beautiful … it’s moments like this that make ballet fans out of people who think they don’t like ballet.”
Tickets are $20 for adults, $11 for students aged 6-18, $10 for ASU students and $5 for children 5 and under. There is also a “Pick 5” deal of $17.80 for adults who buy five tickets at once.
