May 21, 2014. As hard as it is to believe, the Blue Ridge ArtSpace has been around for a whole year already! To celebrate, they are hosting an arts festival in the parking lot of the building on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The parking lot will be closed to traffic and will instead be filled with fun activities.
There will be artists booths, interactive arts booths, a food truck and an area in which to sit and relax while enjoying a full schedule of musical performances from the porch. Just bring your own chair!
Musical performances will begin at 11 a.m. and will continue straight through until 4 p.m. Among the performers are Maureen Renihan, Klee Liles, Folk and Dagger and High Standards.
Among the artist booths will be BR Hoffman’s fibers and quilting, Theresa McGrath’s clay works and jewelry and Dawn Wicklow’s alcohol ink and East Asian Brush Paintings. in fact, you can even try out alcohol ink for yourself or you can paint a fence picket, or even get your face painted so you can be a walking work of art!
Admission will be free, but don’t forget to bring money because you will likely want to purchase something to eat, some wonderful artwork or crafts or take a chance on winning a fabulous cake.
