Jan. 27, 2014. At the beginning of his first term as Boone’s mayor, Andy Ball announced that he will hold community office hours both in his office and in a local business during each week for citizens to come by and talk about any topic that concerns them, no appointment necessary.

“I feel like it’s important for the mayor to be seen and give an opportunity for folks to run into me and have a discussion about any small or large issue on their mind,” Ball said.

“It lends itself to an open communication process to make sure the Council in on track.”

Office hours on Wednesdays will be held at Town Hall from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Town Hall is located on West King Street in Downtown Boone.

As far as the community office hours, Ball said that hours and locations will change each week.

This week, the community office hours will be held this Thursday, Jan. 30, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Stick Boy Kitchen located on Boone Heights Drive.

“The community office hours are for folks to run into me during their daily routine,” Ball said. “So far I have had a lot of positive response. It has been great.”

Check back each week to find out when and where Ball’s community office hours will take place. It will also be announced each week in the window at Town Hall and on the Neighbor’s Report on Tuesday mornings at 8:40 a.m.
