An Appalachian Summer Festival Kicks Off with Outdoor Fireworks Concert Featuring Little Big Town June 28

June 24, 2014. The 30th anniversary season of An Appalachian Summer Festival will officially kick off with the annual Fireworks Concert at Kidd Brewer Stadium, which will take place on Saturday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s concert will feature country superstars Little Big Town sponsored by Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation and Goodnight Brothers.

Comprised of singers Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, this chart-topping group is famous for their trademark four-part harmonies.

Releasing hits such as “Little White Church,” “Tornado,” “Boondocks,” and their 2012 CMA Single of the Year, “Pontoon,” Little Big Town has sold 1.5 million records and racked up multiple CMA, ACM and Grammy nominations throughout their 13 year career.

Admission for the show is $38 for an adult ticket, $33 for Blue Ridge Electric members and $5 for kids ages 6 and under. All seating is general admission and gate to the show will open at 6 p.m. The show will go on rain or shine.

Parking for the event is available at multiple places on Appalachian State University’s campus. Parking is available in the Raley parking lot, the Edwin Duncan parking lot, Rivers Street Parking Deck and Rivers Street bike lanes.

Tailgating for the show is permitted in the Raley parking lot beginning at 4 p.m.
