Aug. 1, 2013. The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum will host its seventh annual Art and Antiques Show beginning with a Preview Party on Thursday, Aug. 1. Vendors from across the East Coast will bring a variety of items such as porcelain, fine and folk art, antique furniture, jewelry, silver and more.
“The Preview Party this year is unique,” said communications coordinator for the Museum, Allison Wonsick.
“As always, serious shoppers will get a sneak peak and early buying opportunity while enjoying wine and cheese at the museum. Then preview party participants will be transported to a new eatery in downtown Blowing Rock, the New Public House and Hotel for a private dinner. Co-Chairs Mary Bost Gray and Pat Sevier have been a tremendous help in organizing this new, exciting addition.”
This will be the second year that the show, with attendance around 800 visitors each year, has taken place inside the museum. The facility opened in October 2011 and offers a variety of exhibits, programs and events.
Additional highlights will include the BRAHM Tea Room, featuring a variety of homemade desserts, coffee and tea, which will be open in the Community Meeting Room from 2-4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
The Art and Antiques Show run from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3 and 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4. TIckets to the show, which are good for entry throughout the weekend, are $10 and may be purchased at the door. The Preview Party is $75 per person, which includes wine, hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Advanced registration is required for the Preview Party and space is limited. Tickets may be purchased by calling 828-295-9099 ext 3001.
The Museum is located at 159 Chestnut Street, on the corner of Chestnut and Main Streets in downtown Blowing Rock.
