App State’s Turchin Center Releases Schedules for Spring Workshops; First Workshops Start March 8 – 9

March 8, 2012. BOONE — Appalachian State University’s Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is gearing up for the warmer weather with the start of their spring workshops for older teens and adults beginning in March and running through June, 2012. Exploring all new workshop subjects, participants can dabble in topics spanning from beginning oil and acrylic painting, to an introduction to mosaics and photo journal making. The classes begin with acrylic painting and oil painting, starting March 8 and 9, respectively.


Beginning Acrylic Painting

March 8, 22, 29 & April 5, 12, 19, 2012 (6 sessions)
6:00- 8:00 p.m.
Instructor: Tyler Deal
Cost: $140 TCVA Donors, $150 Non-Donors

This class will be focused on beginning acrylic painting techniques and introduction to the media. Participants will be working on canvas and paper and will be introduced to a basic working knowledge of color theory.

Beginning Oil Painting

March 9, 23, 30 & April 6, 13, 27 (6 sessions)
Noon- 2:00 p.m.
Instructor: Tyler Deal
Cost: $140 TCVA Donors, $150 Non-Donors

This class will be focused on beginning oil painting techniques and introduction to the media. Participants will be working on canvas and be introduced to a basic working knowledge of color theory.
