Winter Storm To Bring Snow Squalls, Subzero Wind Chill Temperatures Throughout Week

By Jesse Wood

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch and a Winter Weather Advisory on Monday morning. Although these particular advisories expire towards the end of the workday, snow is in the forecast for the remainder of the week.

NWS is calling for the possibility of one to two inches and upwards of three inches at elevations above 4,000 feet for on Monday.

Meanwhile looking out further into the week, RaysWeather.com is forecasting a dusting to one inch on the eastern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains and upwards of one foot near the Tennessee-North Carolina border through Wednesday.

In its forecast on Monday morning, RaysWeather.com told readers to “buckle your seatbelts” in advance of the snow squalls and subzero wind chill temperatures.

“The next 10 days will be the coldest of winter with snow involved many days. A front arrives today with snow showers developing mid to late morning. Expect heavier snow squalls this afternoon and evening. Beyond this evening snow showers and flurries continue Tuesday and Wednesday–a prolonged northwest flow snow shower event,” RaysWeather.com notes.
