Do you love the smooth sound of a classic jazz tune? Is the big sound of a swing band more your speed? Maybe you prefer update bluegrass and country music, or low-key folk and Americana. Whatever your interest, you’re in luck! There’s a concert going on in the High Country this weekend for music lovers of all kinds.

Jazzfest at the Jones House – Friday

Make your way to the lawn at the Jones House Community Center in downtown Boone by 5 p.m. tonight to enjoy an evening of jazz favorites performed by Maureen Renihan and Friends, Todd Wright and Shane Chalke. Jazzfest is sure to be a great way to spend your Friday night.

Soul Purpose at Music on the Lawn – Friday

Unwind with this eclectic band of singer-songwriters at the Best Cellar in Blowing Rock tonight for this week’s Music on the Lawn event. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the cash bar and special lawn menu. The concert will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Steph Stewart & The Boyfriends at Music in the Valle – Friday

Enjoy the unique folk sounds of Steph Stewart & The Boyfriends at 6:30 p.m. at Valle Crucis Community Park. No admission, although $5 donations to the park per person are recommended. Don’t forget your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets!

The Swing Set at Riverwalk in Newland – Friday

Celebrate the summer with this 10 to 12-piece swing band as they perform favorites from the Rat Pack to Michael Bublé from 6-9 p.m. at the Riverwalk Park and Bandshell below Lowe’s Foods in Newland on Friday. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the rock gym at Avery School.

Amantha Mill at Todd Summer Music – Saturday

Talented, popular local band Amantha Mill returns to Cook Park this weekend in Todd. Amantha Mill specializes in traditional bluegrass, swing, cowboy, country and Americana/roots music. There’s something in each of their shows for all music lovers. The free concert begins at 6 p.m.

Elkville String Band at Linville Falls Winery – Saturday

Grab a glass of wine and check out Elkville String Band at Linville Falls Winery this weekend. Music starts at 3 p.m., so get ready to enjoy the afternoon with live music and a drink in your hand.
