LETTERS / I’m a ‘Hater’ Because Someone Says I Am.

Dear Editor,

“To discover who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” Voltaire

The noise and rage about ‘Russian influence’ ignores real Israeli influence in ‘our government’? Israel interferes in American politics all the time, and it’s treated as normal.

It’s ironic that in the midst of a media and congressional feeding frenzy on foreign interference in America, the one country in the world that consistently leads Washington by the nose is immune from criticism. The subservient role dutifully played by every president after JFK when dealing with Tel Aviv has resulted in defining American national interests in terms of Israeli opinions. President Kennedy spoke about requiring AIPAC to register as a foreign agent to reduce Israel’s strong grip on ‘our’ government.

Trump is giving Israel most everything they want, bowing to the Israel Lobby and Jewish groups regularly. Israel’s friends either run or have the ear of the media and they’re supported by a formidable Washington based lobbying machine to get their point across. Whenever anything happens in the Middle East or elsewhere that’s related to Israel’s interests their machine goes to work with position papers presented to every congressional office the next morning by AIPAC, to ‘guide’ the agenda in ‘our’ government, and it succeeds.

Since Israel’s founding in 1948, accusations of antisemitism have been pinned on anyone who criticized Israeli actions and was effective in silencing even prominent critics. Pointing out contradictions and flaws in their actions is forbidden. Zionism isn’t about race; it’s a political philosophy that wants to have it both ways. If Jews want anti-Semitism to come to an end once and for all, they might want to self-reflect.

Any criticism of any Jew for any reason is automatically called anti-Semitism. It’s their get out of jail free card. Asking Americans to put interest of America ahead of Israel is branded as anti-Semitic. That goes towards proving Zionists know the American ‘consumer’ is brain dead.

I’m a ‘hater’ because someone says I am. Could they be a child molester because I say they are? If I said I hated Scots-Irish Protestants, who would care? There are only a few of us left. But suggesting difficulty with Zionists/Israel is another story altogether. Perhaps the phrase “To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize” makes sense when used in this context.

Israel’s interference in our politics is the conspiracy in plain sight that no one in the media talks in part, because they’re too implicated themselves. The top executives at ‘our’ largest media companies are pro-Israel; one of them, David Cohen, raised money for the Israeli army. Netanyahu’s speeches to Congress were written by Gary Ginsberg, an executive at Time Warner. Four New York Times reporters have had children serve in the Israeli army. One of them, David Brooks, says that “he gets gooey-eyed when he visits Israel”. Tom Friedman justified the Iraq War because suicide bombers were going into Tel Aviv pizza parlors. The list of journalists and their bosses favoring Israel is too long to include here.

‘Our’ government and other Western governments are equally obliging in ceaselessly promoting the false premise that any pro-Palestinian activism by human rights organizations or individuals is anti-Semitism. Why are Palestinians terrorists, for wanting to live free and unmolested in their homeland? Would you become a terrorist if suddenly you discovered a new foreign ruling group here?

Israel’s global propaganda effort, hasbara, or “explanation”, combined with the tenacious lobbying of pro-Israel groups has been so successful that Israeli government ministers no longer pretend interest in peace negotiations or a two-state solution. This enables more illegal Jewish settlement expansion. Many of them have said that “there will never be a Palestinian state” because they know the rest of the world won’t dare to do anything about it. The fear of being labelled an “anti-Semite” or “Holocaust denier” prevents any criticism of Israel. Pro-Israel activism has successfully maintained an unprecedented assault against freedom of expression which, if not opposed, is undeniable complicity in Israel’s barbaric crimes against the Palestinians.

“If I were to remain silent, I’d be guilty of complicity.” Albert Einstein

AIPAC is the most powerful lobby in Washington. It has nearly 400 employees and supports local chapters throughout America. All those employees lobby Congress and increasingly state legislatures for a foreign country that has little real common interest with America. Congress, too lazy to really investigate reality, relies on AIPAC’s ‘information’. That’s how ‘our’ system works and if any politician ignores the ‘expert’ advice, AIPAC and its friends makes sure he or she has a well-funded opponent in the next election, someone who knows how to say “I love Israel” without moving their lips. It’s interesting how Jews among themselves boast about their power but if a gentile so much as suggests the same thing it’s labeled anti-Semitism.

Jews brag about Jewish actors, authors, politicians, and directors; its pride in action. Frequently when someone mentions a movie, book or piece of art, you hear something like, “Did you know that he was Jewish?” I heard these things all the time when in the northeast. The fun part is when an anti-Israel/Zionist individual says things like, “The Jews control the media” and “The Jews control Washington” Suddenly the Zionists are up in arms creating huge campaigns to take those people down, to put them out of work. Zionists publish articles and have created entire organizations just to tell everyone that the Jews don’t control anything’. No, we don’t control the media; we don’t have any more sway in DC than anyone else. No, we’re just like everybody else.

America backs a foreign country with an apartheid system. Israel bans visitors who don’t accept its questionable policies but we assault Russia for doing less concerning intrusive NGO’S. AIPAC has figured out how to use the power that money buys to corrupt the system in ways that produce wars and turmoil which have blown back on America and made you less safe and poorer.

To those horrified by my calling ‘our government’ a Zionist Occupied Government I respond, I’m wish it wasn’t so. I don’t care for racists of any kind, but you can’t deny reality because of the possible ‘overtones’ of the term chosen or because of some invented need to be especially ‘sensitive’ when dealing with some special group. As a birth-right Quaker I supported Israel without question, until I began to discover the reality.

Should Israel be owed any special favor? Why do we need to use various complex linguistic contortions when discussing their role in the modern world? Some might argue with the “occupation” part of the label, so, what would you call ‘our’ government which is clearly acting in direct opposition to the will of most Americans and acts in the interests of a foreign power with which America doesn’t have a formal treaty? This isn’t a Trump-specific phenomenon. I think that it accelerated with Reagan and the Ziocons fully seized power with Bill Clinton. What’s clear is that in every election Americans vote for less war and each time they get more wars that benefit Israel and not America.

Israel has been given a boost to keep its racist and genocidal status alive. America is giving Israel at least $38 billion in military aid in a 10-year pact; this while America has an unemployment catastrophe beyond the official numbers, a poverty level that’s officially unrecognized, infrastructure collapsing, and a national debt of about $20 Trillion. This doesn’t include ‘secret’ assistance.

America is controlled by people who are obsessed in pursuing the interests of a foreign power. Many of ‘our’ government’s bureaucrats and politicians are dual citizens of Israel and America. Where do you think their interests are under those circumstances? Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty is forgotten. Adm. Moorer speaking about the attack in 2004 said: “I’ve never seen a President … stand up to Israel. … If the American people understood what a grip these people have on our government, they would rise up in arms.”

It’s bizarre how America, a ‘superpower’, is controlled by a tiny nation half way around the world. ‘By way of deception thou shall do war.’ Mossad’s motto

Most ‘consumers’ think “antisemitism” means bigotry against Jewish people and rightly consider it hateful. A campaign has been underway to replace that definition with an Israel-centric definition. That definition can then be used to block speech and activism in support of Palestinian human rights as “hate”. Insisting Israel has the “right” to exist, as an exclusive religious state, amounts to saying it has the right to expel Muslim and Christian Palestinians as it already has. Equating the crimes of Israel with Jewishness is the most deceptive form of anti-Semitism of all.

“The entire faith system of many professing Christians depends on their allegiance to the modern State of Israel. These Christian Zionists might recite a pledge of allegiance to the United States of America, but their true allegiance is to the State of Israel.” Chuck Baldwin

Many American Jews question Israeli government policies or have little interest in promoting them. The pro-Israel lobby’s political rather than ethnic focus derives much support from Christian Zionists, some of them outright anti-Semites, who believe that the return of Jews to Israel indicates the Second Coming of Christ. Why does so much American taxpayer money go to a small and difficult apartheid client state that has a lively European-level economy and is already a regional military colossus?

America’s Middle East policy revolves around oil and Israel. The invasion of Iraq has partially satisfied ‘our’ oil quest, but ongoing American military action in Syria and economic sanctions on Iran have everything to do with Israel. The goal is to deprive Israel’s neighboring enemies, Hezbollah and Hamas, of Syrian and Iranian support. The two most powerful groups in ‘our’ foreign policy establishment are the Israel lobby, which directs American Middle East policy, and the Military-Industrial-Complex, which profits from that group’s actions.
