LETTERS / America Offers the Narrowest Range of “Electoral Choices” in the Industrial World.

Dear Editor,

“There will be within the next generation or so a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda, brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods.” Aldous Huxley

What’s the message of American freedom; you can choose different flavors, watch different crime shows, buy a Ford or a Toyota, visit different theme parks, can take various pills: clear examples of the extent of “our freedom”.

Those who rioted at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago gave in, bought an SUV, and chose to love the State under Clinton and Obama. It comes down to whether you’re an individual, or part of The Empire/group. “Consumers” aims are diluted versions of freedom. “Our” Surveillance State sees everything with the idea that what isn’t “Normal” is dangerous.

Individual tales of rise, fall, glory and humiliation, are presented as: This could happen to you. You would be exposed. Suffer the costs. Keep your mind blank. Do nothing unusual. Be safe and you’ll never be tempted to stand out from the crowd. “Consumers” respond to growing control with a shrug: “What difference does it make?” They’ve bought the government package and hidden their abilities in layers of passive compromise accepting assignment to the collective gloom. He may complain, but he fits in. “Consumers” can’t imagine another possibility. They’re distracted by empty discussions with people they already agree with.

“Brave New World” and “1984” weren’t just fiction, but blueprints for controlled, enslaved societies. Huxley, talks of terrorism and drugs to create willing slaves. Government can’t control “consumers” with terror forever.  In an efficient, long-term prison state, people have to consent to what is happening to them.

America offers the narrowest range of “electoral choices” in the industrial world. Voting has little impact on how the country is run, it’s been proven corrupt, and many see that. The documentary; “Hacking Democracy”, provides proof. Obama wants you to believe that the Empire would be “improved”, to believe that mandatory voting would “counteract” the influence of money in the electoral process. That’s from someone who wrecked the public campaign finance system by abandoning it and outspending his opponents in both of his presidency campaigns.

America has the lowest voter turnout in the industrialized world. It’s not because “consumers” are happier with the way they’re living than everyone else. Most Americans don’t vote because both major political “parties” answer to the same elite who decide “the issues” long before any “elections”. Its rule by the rich: oligarchy. Only minor tinkering with the way the country is run is tolerated. “Money” chooses the menu; your only option is to select from the list of “candidates”, or stay home. “Consumers” accept the illusion that “our government” is a necessary evil. It’s not.  Unless you think evil is necessary.

“Consumers” have decided to go along to get along, accepting criminal government, choosing not to fight their loss of freedoms, liberties, and rights. They accept living in a cage as long as they’re able to buy Chinese crap on credit, and take seven year loans for new cars using their government handouts. They bow to their masters and can’t tell heaven from hell.

You might think that slaves who are told they’re free would know the difference. A bird in a cage since birth doesn’t know what wings are for. They can’t think or evaluate evidence. They demand to hear what they’ve been trained to hear. Fresh “enemies” keep “consumers” in their drunken stupor of patriotism. This is amusing if you ignore the cost of national decay and carnage. Fantasy news that claims to be professional journalism defies logic and common sense. The silly flag wavers chant USA, USA, USA, celebrating reality that resembles fascism.

Prepare for the next planned deceptive event that pushes “consumers” into demanding an even greater level of tyranny. When Homeland security burns the last appearance of constitutional government a pure dictatorship will arise. Anyone questioning the official “truth” must be unpatriotic. Public schools haven’t failed at what they were created to do, the dumbing down of our kids: they’ve been a smashing success. The “education” system is designed to keep people afraid, ignorant of the world, and skeptical of anything originating outside of official sources.

Morpheus said: “The Matrix is a system, Neo, that system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around, what do you see? The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it.”

A “Good Journalist” must demonstrate no opinions; don’t call it torture if “our government” says that it isn’t; don’t speak of police shooting unarmed citizens as a problem unless officials agree that it is. American journalism has lost it central purpose, only serving those who have the greatest interest in preserving the status quo.

The Empire’s “news” media serves you propaganda about some designated villain and scolds anyone who suggests that there might be another viewpoint. You hear calls for “open” conversations on various topics but what’s meant is they want to change your mind, modify your opinion: surrender to the authority of the ruling elites. You can’t vote your way out of the current mess because it’s not a free society but a complex open range prison.

You might think politicians of both “parties” would get serious about practical ways to ease geopolitical tensions, not aggravate them. Instead, all we’re getting from “our government” is constant arrogant tough talk. Society has become so false that the truth bothers “consumers”.

The Affordable Care Act isn’t affordable: Its raised health insurance rates and the cost of healthcare. The Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act, described as improving food labeling actually bans states from creating their own GMO labeling requirements, keeping food labels inaccurate, The USA Patriot Act redefined “patriotism” as massive unconstitutional government surveillance and intrusion. And so on.

At least half of Americans don’t believe the official 9/11 story and have demanded another investigation, yet nothing happens. Ninety percent of Americans want GMO labeling laws, yet “our government” continues to oppose them. The list goes on and on. Those actually in power fool you with “news”. Dark acts are frequently done disguised as good deeds. Change won’t come from the system; it never has and never will. Change can only come from you and me. If we keep looking to government to provide real solutions and take care of our planet, the planet will continue to get trashed as it always has.

The fraction of the One Percent that makes the vital decisions knows that what’s important isn’t what candidate wins, but that their system wins, reaffirming its legitimacy every few years as voters obediently “vote” for Tweedledee or Tweedledum, only to become disillusioned down the road, voting next time for the “other party”, as an impotent “protest” that leads nowhere. In “our” representative government are you being represented?
