Over Yonder Oyster Party to Benefit F.A.R.M. Cafe Sunday Evening Sunday, Dec. 3

Chef Andy Long of Over Yonder is inviting a few of his friends including Chef Sam Ratchford of Vidalia, Chef John Dean of The New Public House, and Chef Renee Boughman of F.A.R.M. Cafe over to his place in Valle Crucis for a Sunday evening Oyster Party.  He is inviting the public to come on out to join them.  All are welcome. Proceeds from the event which will be held at Over Yonder from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 will benefit F.A.R.M. Cafe.

Each Chef will prepare and cook a special oyster dish including some to be prepared wood grilled and/or roasted.  There will also be a selection of raw oysters on the half shell available. All items will be available a la carte.  Special drink pairings and features will be available.

“Many of the Chefs here in the High Country have worked together through the years and are friends,” said Long, “We don’t get many chances to come together and share the food we prepare, so this is a great chance to do just that, invite the public, and support the mission of F.A.R.M. Cafe.   It will be a fun evening!”   Long was part of the original planning team that worked with Boughman to conceptualize and implement Boone’s F.A.R.M. (Feed All Regardless of Means) Cafe.   Along with Ratchford and other chefs and restaurants in the area, Long has continued to be a strong supporter of the mission of F.A.R.M. Cafe to fight food insecurity here in the High Country.

No reservations are necessary for the event on Sunday evening.   According to Long, “It is going to be a casual order what you want, when you want type of affair.  Seating will be in a community style similar to what is done at F.A.R.M. Cafe.  Everyone can come on to Over Yonder and enjoy the party!”
