From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., October 13 & 14, Sugar Mountain Resort hosts its 28th annual Oktoberfest celebration.
Live Bavarian music performed by the 15-piece Harbour Towne Fest Band and traditional American music performed by the Valle Crucis Middle School Band highlights the two-day festival. German and American food is available. Plus, barrels and barrels of beverages flow lavishly. The children’s fun center includes hay rides, corn hole, pumpkin bowling, water balloon tossing, play time withSugar and Sweetie Bear, and an array of bounce houses. Partake in a Bavarian costume contest. Local & regional art & craft and fun food vendors sprawl their wares on the back lawn. Glide fromSugar Mountain’s 4,100’ base to its 5,300’ peak through the forest and above the treetops aboard the Summit Express chairlift. Experience the thrill of cycling the rebuilt and expanded bike park. Shop for cold weather-wear at the Sugar Mountain Sports & Gift Shop or bring home a Bavarian memento from the Oktoberfest souvenir tent.
The celebration marches on wind or rain or shine or snow. Admission, parking, and shuttle service are free of charge.
