Tickets Still Available for Cirque Zuma Zuma at Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts Thursday, Sept. 26

Sept. 24, 2013. Cirque Zuma Zuma comes to Boone after sell-out seasons in Europe and an extended debut run in Australia. They will be performing at Appalachian State University’s Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 and as of press time, tickets are still available for the show. 

This high-energy acrobatic and dance act is set to African-style music and is described as an “African Cirque de Soleil.” Admission to Cirque Zuma Zuma is $20 for adults and $10 for students with valid student ID. 

imgres-1Coming up after Cirque Zuma Zuma is the much anticipated event with Frank Warren of PostSecret fame. On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. Warren, who is the founder and creator of the PostSecret movement will be at the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts.

PostSecret is both a series of books and an ongoing project which collects homemade postcards sent to Warren anonymously, depicting the senders deepest held secrets and allowing them to share with the world without being known. Tickets for this event are $20 for adults and $10 for students with valid student ID. 

On Nov. 1 at 8 p.m., the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts will host the Tedeschi Trucks Band, an 11-piece musical ensemble led by husband and wife team Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. Tickets for the concert are $30 for adults and $18 for students with a valid student ID. 

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts will host Savion Glover’s STePz, a celebration of tap dance and sound. Glover and his team of dancers will showcase complex moves and varied combinations to the awed audience. Tickets to the show are $20 for adults, $16 for faculty and staff and $10 for students with a valid student ID. 

The STePz show will signal the end of the 2013 Performing Arts Series at ASU, however, the 2014 section of the series will pick back up in January with many more performances.
