What’s New at the Farmers’ Market? Shopping at Horn in the West on Sat, Oct. 15

The Watauga County Farmers’ Market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at 591 Horn in the West.
Great week to come by the Market, hang-out, have some freshly brewed coffee, scrumptious baked delights, listen to some good music, visit with friends, and purchase your seasonal decorations (lots of great exotic pumpkins, etc.), holiday gifts, and fresh local produce that tastes great and is very healthy for you.

Saturday will be another great day at the Market!

  • Music – On main stage and back by popular demand is Ron Fitzwater.  On side stage playing acoustic guitar and having a great voice is Jimmy Pineda.
  • Kid’s Corner – There will be no Kid’s Corner this week.
  • AGE Labs from ASU – several faculty members who study a variety of questions related to how people develop across the lifespan will be at the Market to network, educate, and survey.

Mountain Flower Bakery – featuring colorful gluten, soy and dairy-free artisan cupcakes, treats, and hearty muffins. Our delicious products are baked fresh just before market day using fresh farm eggs and natural organic oils. Our baked goods are hand-made using certified high-quality, gluten-free flours and tasty nuts, dried and fresh fruits. Mountain Flower bakery offers a variety of decorated specialty cupcakes. We also offer tasty grain-free sweet potato & peanut butter dog biscuits.”

Faith Mountain Farm – Faith Mountain Farm – New this week: decorative gourds and pumpkins. Sourwood and summer wildflower honey available for tasting!  Variety of breakfast muffins, cinnamon rolls, scones, granola, whole grain breads, and chewy balls along with gluten free options for scones and muffins and usually a cake (strawberry, chocolate, or coconut).   Zinnias if the frost doesn’t get them. New Life Farm -Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Topless Beets, Salad Mix, Lettuce, Kale, Potatoes, Eggplant, Collard Greens, Parsley, Cilantro, Spaghetti Squash, Acorn Squash, Butternut Squash, as well as pasture raised pork and chicken.  All of our animals are pasture raised and fed North Carolina Grown NON-GMO feed.

Blue Ridge Apiaries –  A whole bunch of locally produced honey, including Sourwood, Basswood, and Wildflower Honey, as well as everything else you could ever hope for from a hive of honeybees in the High Country.

Mountain Memories Farm – Sage Sausage Link – – Sample on the grill. Special this week – pork chops and lamb chops, along with all cuts of meat from both lamb and port, we will have ground beef and a huge variety of sausages in link and bulk.  Boerewors (South African) is a blend of 3 meats, awesome flavor, and has no sugar! We are also the only ones I know who work with variscite(Look it up.). We also sell beautiful sterling wrapped pendants (including a cord so you can wear them away). We include an earring rack and a lovely bracelet section.
