The market operates from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday this summer at 591 Horn in the West in Boone.

For more information, check out wataugacountyfarmersmarket.org.

Labor Day Weekend (Saturday Morning)A great time to come to the Market!  For some, Labor Day marks the close of summer.   For others, it’s the beginning of autumn.  Labor Day recognizes the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.  It also recognizes high quality work done by individuals who make it a labor of love, which of course includes our farmers, bakers, jellies, jams, cheeses, & salsa makers, artisans, and crafters.   Please come to the Market on Saturday and share in the love!

Answer to last week’s Market Quiz:  The answer was “Eat A Peach”.  We had a record number of responders to that question as obviously the Allman Brothers have knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans.   Thank you to all who participated!

Market Quiz Question of the Week: What was the name of the song performed by Jay & the Techniques in 1967 that reached # 8 on the R&B Chart and has references to 2 fruits, 1 fall vegetable, and a baked good that can be found at the Market? The secondperson to come to the Mangers Booth on Saturdaymorning with the correct answer will win a $10.00 gift certificate and have bragging rights for Week 18 of the Market.

Saturday will be another great day at the Market!!!  In addition to all the wonderful produce and products(please see below), we’ve got lots of exciting activities.   On main stage, we welcome back a local favorite band, Skillet Gap.   On our side stage, Ron Fitzwater will be performing.  In addition, there will be fun activities at Kid’s Corner.
Hope to see you on Saturday at the Market!  Be there at our Town Square!
