LIVE REMOTE RADIO SHOW AT THE MARKET!!! –  From 9:00 – 11:00 am, Jeremiah Farmer, charismatic and popular local DJ with Curtis Media Group will be at the Market performing a live remote radio show for Classic Station 100.7 FM and 99.1 FM.  In addition, there will be remotes on Highway 106 & 102.3 as well and probably some live drops on “The Highway”!   There will be lots of fun at the Market with our favorite DJ, Jeremiah, and also be sure to tune in to your radio.


Fall / Leaf Season / Approaching Halloween – Before going out to enjoy the brilliant and stunning colors of Blue Ridge Mountain leaf season, please come by the Market, hang-out, have some freshly brewed coffee, scrumptious baked delights, listen to some good music, visit with friends, and purchase your seasonal decorations (lots of great exotic pumpkins, etc.), holiday gifts, and fresh local produce that tastes great and is very healthy for you.pumpkin

Music – main stage – the extremely talented “Tator Hill Mashers”, Boone’s youngest old-time string band.  These budding musicians have received rave reviews at the Market and are great entertainers.

Music – side stage – “Marshal Daniels”, playing the “handpan (looks a lot like a UFO or a wok!)”.

Cooking Demonstration – Appalachian Student Dietetic Association (ASDA) will dazzle us with their culinary skills and talents as they convert fall produce into delectable delights.

Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture (BRAWIA) –– Dave Walker will be available to provide information regarding seed cataloguing).

Kid’s Mini-Market – (Sponsored by PHARMN – Preserve Heritage Agriculture & Regional Markets Now) – Mini-Market, where children 13 & younger are able to bring vegetables & flowers they have grown and original art & craft items they have made (nothing edible) to sell as young market vendors. Skills in marketing & money management as well as communication & creative development are enhanced by this opportunity for children to make & sell something of their own. And they love it!

Donation Station -this charitable component is making the market an even more valuable asset to the people of the High Country. Three local hunger relief agencies – Hospitality House, Casting Bread Food Pantry and Hunger and Health Coalition – have joined with the Farmer Foodshare Inc. network and Boone United Methodist Church to establish Donation Station at the market.

Double-Bucks Program – Customers using EBT cards can purchase Beet Buck tokens at the Market Manager’s booth to use to purchase fresh vegetables and meats from most vendors. Thanks to the generous efforts of the Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and their community partners, the Markets offers Double Bucks up to $40 per week for EBT customers.

Massage Therapist – Emily Lindenmuth, LMT, licensed body work and massage therapist, will be at the market to perform massages and give tips on improving your health.

Faith Mountain Farm – Faith Mountain Farm – New this week: decorative gourds and pumpkins. Sourwood and summer wildflower honey available for tasting!  Variety of breakfast muffins, cinnamon rolls, scones, granola, whole grain breads, and chewy balls along with gluten free options for scones and muffins and usually a cake (strawberry, chocolate, or coconut).   Zinnias if the frost doesn’t get them. Mountain Memories Farm – Sage Sausage Link – – Sample on the grill. Special this week – pork chops and lamb chops, along with all cuts of meat from both lamb and port, we will have ground beef and a huge variety of sausages in link and bulk.  Boerewors (South African) is a blend of 3 meats, awesome flavor, and has no sugar! Stop by for a sample of it along with other samples off the grill. Tumbling Shoals Farm- certified organic fresh baby ginger, sweet potatoes, beets, baby bok choy, Hakurei salad turnips, radishes, baby lettuce salad mix, spicy salad mix, arugula, rainbow chard, kale, fennel, green or red leaf lettuce, sweet Italian peppers, sweet bell peppers, poblano peppers, “Hatch” chiles, assorted hot chiles, Trinidad perfume (not hot) chile, and perhaps a few collard greens.

Lively Up Farm – Specialty pumpkins and winter squash.  French Pumpkins, Jarrahdale pumpkin, Jack O lanterns, White pumpkins, Thai pumpkins, Acorn squash, Red Kuri Squash,  Cushaw Squash,  Long Island Cheese Pumpkin, Big Blue Hubbards, and Moranga a Brazilizan Pumpkin.  All heirlooms and started by seed by us from Bakers Creek Heirlooms Seeds.

Against the Grain – certified organic and Biodynamic summer squash, carrots, beets, tomatoes, strawberries, garlic, peppers, onions, dill, potatoes, and cornmeal.  We also have Animal Welfare Approved, gmo-free, pasture-raised pork and chicken.


Colibri – Specializing in fine hand-knotted necklaces made from well-loved to very unusual semi-precious beads. They are closed with wonderful magnetic clasps and are sold as a set with matching earrings. We are also the only ones I know who work with variscite (Look it up.). We also sell beautiful sterling wrapped pendants (including a cord so you can wear them away). We include an earring rack and a lovely bracelet section.
