WYN Announces New Facility Addition at ASU Student-Organized Bowling Extravaganza Event

The Western Youth Network will officially announce plans for a new addition to their local facility during the Western Youth Network Bowling Extravaganza. The event is intended to inform the community of what’s on the horizon for the Western Youth Network, raise funds to complete the addition, and celebrate the High Country’s dedication to providing youths with opportunities to fulfill their potential.

The festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, during an Appalachian State University student-organized fundraising event held at 10 High Country Lanes in Boone. Teams consisting of five to seven people are encouraged to sign up in advance, but walk-in teams are welcome. The price to participate in the tournament is $20 per person, which includes two games of bowling, shoes, and one large pizza per team.

The family friendly event will feature a bowling tournament, coin drive, and raffle. Community businesses and organizations have donated a variety of raffle items and tournament prizes for teams with the highest overall donation amount and bowling score. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward the installment of Western Youth Network’s new facility addition.

The Western Youth Network is an organization dedicated to building youth of character and confidence so that every young person in the High Country reaches their full potential. By providing local youths with the safety of a caring environment, the support of positive role models, and the skills needed to learn and grow, Western Youth Network is creating a community in which every child, regardless of their circumstances, thrives.

Teams interested in signing up for the tournament or donating directly to the Western Youth Network’s new addition can contact Laurel Kassor by emailing kassorli@appstate.edu.
