Customers who spend $25 at Anna Banana’s will be given 25 percent off their purchase at Welcome Home Thriftique, while those who spend $15 at Welcome Home Thriftique will be given 15 percent off their Anna Banana’s purchase.

The centerpiece of this new alliance will see Welcome Home Thriftique opening an Anna Banana’s Overstock Shop inside its retail store, which will feature consignors’ community donations and inventory directly from Anna Banana’s.

Since opening Anna Banana’s in 2010, owner and operator Anna Roseman has been active in finding ways to give back to the community. Roseman continues to work with Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge and has been involved with Hospitality House as an Ally in Circles of The High Country, their anti-poverty initiative. Now, by engaging her consignors with a way to give back, Roseman seeks to multiply her efforts and encourage others to give back to the community that she loves.

“One of our main goals at Anna Banana’s is to serve our community,” states Roseman.” “Now, when our consignors choose to donate their items we give them to Welcome Home Thriftique and one-hundred percent of sales benefit Hospitality House.  There’s no waste! “

Roseman continues, “By consigning clothing from locals we’re already putting money directly back into our local economy and now, every item has a chance to raise money for others.  I’m excited about our relationship with Welcome Home Thriftique which will offer our community an opportunity to serve others by simply cleaning out their closets!”

Welcome Home Thriftique, a four-year cooperative project between Hospitality House, Appalachian State University’s ACT (Appalachian and the Community Together) program, North Carolina Campus Compact, and AmeriCorps, has been open since July 25, 2014. All items sold in the store have been donated by the community and 100 percent of profits go to support the men, women and children of Hospitality House. Merchandised items include art, furniture, antiques, collectibles, home goods, décor and name brand clothing.

“This collaboration fits perfectly within our mission – an upscale thrift store with a purpose,” states NC Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA and Welcome Home Thriftique Project Manager Ethan Flynn. “The opportunity to work with such a strong local brand that has an incredibly unique style is all kinds of exciting.”
