Weekly Winner Wrap-Up for N.C. Lottery, Players Win Nearly $19 Million in Prizes Last Week

Sept. 29, 2014. Lottery players in North Carolina won more than $18.4 million in prizes since Thursday, Sept. 18. During that time, players of instant scratch-off games won more than $14 million. Players of draw games won $4.4 million in total prizes.

The biggest win of the week went to Nancy St. John, a sales coordinator from Kinston, who plans to use the $200,000 prize she won playing the $200,000 Jackpot game to make some home repairs and help take care of her rescue animals.

“I’ve been rescuing animals for around 30 years now,” St. John said as she collected her winnings on Friday. “People can help themselves, but animals can be helped by people. I currently have a lot of dogs and a few horses. This money will go a long way towards making them more comfortable.” {Read More}

Mega Millions Report

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $93 million if taken as an annuity or $54.6 million if taken as a lump sum. In the Sept. 19 Mega Millions drawing, 24,000 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $1,000, totaling $54,489. In Tuesday’s drawing, 24,974 tickets won $79,777 in prizes ranging from $1 to $2,500.

Powerball Report

Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $40 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $23.8 million if taken as a lump sum. Wednesday’sPowerball drawing produced 23,366 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000, totaling $220,703. The Saturday, Sept. 20 Powerball drawing produced 20,319 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000, totaling $190,581.

All or Nothing Report

Players in the All or Nothing game collected $403,068 in prizes this week, including 39 prizes of $500. The game’s top prize is $250,000 and drawings occur every day at 12:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
