His lucky Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers in the March 20 drawing to win the jackpot. After state and federal taxes were withheld, Meece received a check for $238,464. {Read Story}

Fayetteville resident Fannie Easter plans to use the $150,000 she won playing the Golden 7’s game to purchase a new home and celebrate her upcoming birthday in Las Vegas. After state and federal taxes were withheld, Easter received a check for $103,801. {Read Story}

Since Thursday, July 10, lottery players across the state won $15.6 million playing instant games and more than $4.1 million playing draw games, totaling more than $19.7 million in prizes. Mega Millions Report

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $50 million if taken as an annuity or $28.8 million if taken as a lump sum. In Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, 23,653 tickets won prizes ranging from $1 to $1,000, totaling $54,233. In the July 11 drawing, 24,166 tickets won $73,824 in prizes ranging from $1 to $500.

Powerball Report

Saturday’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $60 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $35.9 million if taken as a lump sum. Wednesday’s Powerball drawing produced 11,623 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000, totaling $99,945. The Saturday, July 12 Powerball drawing produced 13,144 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $200, totaling $87,929.

Carolina Cash 5 Report

A ticket from the July 15 drawing matched all five numbers to win the $367,514 Carolina Cash 5 jackpot. The ticket, which has not been claimed, was purchased at the Kangaroo Express on Carthage Street in Sanford.

Where the Money Goes

Ticket sales have made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $3.4 billion for the state. Net proceeds are used for prekindergarten programs for at-risk four-year-olds, teachers’ salaries in grades K-3, school construction, digital learning initiatives, need-based college scholarships and financial aid.
