Of the week’s biggest prize winners, three happen to hail from cities and towns in the Triad.

Randy Richardson, a resident of Seagrove in Randolph County, said the $487,632 jackpot he won in the Aug. 2 Carolina Cash 5 drawing will help him take a dream vacation across the country on a train. William Beddick, a home renovator from Winston-Salem, says that he plans to use the $200,000 top prize he won playing the King’s Ransom game to help his family and start his own renovation business. “It feels fantastic,” Beddick said. “This is really going to set me up for the next stage of my life.” {Read More}

Maria Flores doesn’t live in the Triad, but she did win $200,000 on a Diamonds and Dollars ticket she bought at the Great Stops on West Market Street in Greensboro. The Washington D.C. resident is the first winner in the game since it began in July. {Read More}

The final six-figure prize winner of the week is Juliane Bump of Cullowhee in Jackson County. She plans to use the $150,000 she won playing the Trucks & Bucks game to help pay for her grandchildren’s education.
