Weekly NC Lottery Update: Powerball Jackpot Jumps To $169M Cash Value

A Lexington couple claimed the largest scratch-off prize yet, six North Carolinians won all-expense trips to Las Vegas and a chance to compete on a TV game show, and Powerball players have a chance on Saturday to win one of the largest jackpots this year.

lotteryThe Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing will be an estimated $267 million, if taken as an annuity, or $169 million, if taken as a lump sum. That’s the 5th highest jackpot so far this year. The current jackpot has grown since the Aug. 1 drawing when a player in California won $110 million.

Tonight’s big drawing is in the Mega Millions game. The jackpot is $31 million, if taken as an annuity, or $19.1 million, if taken as a lump sum.

Six North Carolinians are on their way to Las Vegas In October for the chance to appear on the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB™ lottery television game show. The players were randomly selected after submitting their MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES’ CLUB instant tickets into a second-chance drawing. Each will receive a five-day, four-night trip to Las Vegas, where the game show episodes are taped. Attendees will have a chance to be randomly selected as a contestant on the show, which gives them a chance to win up to $1 million. The winners are:
