Weekly Crime Reports: Activity Reported Around the High Country, May 25 – June 1

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following were provided by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

 

April 16

INCIDENT: Drug violations and equipment/paraphernalia were reported at 2146 N.C. Highway 194 in Boone.

May 8

INCIDENT: Drug violations and equipment/paraphernalia were reported at 100 Hickory Lane in Boone.

May 26

INCIDENT: Fraud/obtaining property by false pretense was reported at pharmacy locations within the town of Boone.

May 27

INCIDENT: Traffic and drug violations and possession of marijuana were reported in the parking lot of Jimmy John’s on U.S. Highway 321 South in Boone. Items seized include marijuana, a glass smoking pipe and a metal grinder.

INCIDENT: Burglary/forcible entry and larceny were reported at 1066 Linville Creek Road in Vilas. $500 in money/cash was reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 4071 Mountain Dale Road in Vilas.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 120 Charles Miller Road in Todd. Damage to a door valued at $100 was reported.

INCIDENT: Violation of a domestic violence protection order and vandalism were reported at 113 Lawrence Greene Road in Deep Gap. Damage to a door valued at $200 was reported.

ARREST: A female suspect, 34, of 172 Rock Creek Road in Creston, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations. She was held under a $562 bond amount and is scheduled to appear in court on June 25.

ARREST: A male suspect, 48, of 269 Northwoods Road in Boone, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery and communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 38, of 1244 Cajah Mountain Road in Hudson, was charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 6.

ARREST: A female suspect, 44, of 269 Northwoods Road in Boone, was charged with assault. She is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 29, of 239 Silverwood Drive in Boone, was charged with assault on a female. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 28

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 3751 U.S. Highway 221 S. in Blowing Rock. A boat/watercraft valued at $1,800 and a boat trailer valued at $800 were reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Manufacturing methamphetamine was reported at 1297 N.C. Highway 194 S. in Vilas.

INCIDENT: Trespassing was reported at 142 Old Hatch Lane in Boone.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 698 Curley Maple Road in Boone. Items reported stolen include a lawn mower valued at $1,000 and a bicycle valued at $150.

INCIDENT: Vandalism and calls for service were reported at 283 Besty’s Drive in Boone. Items reported damaged include a camera valued at $500, a shirt valued at $20 and photographs valued at $20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 33, of 2014 Park Drive in Charlotte, was charged with possession of marijuana (less than ½ oz.) and drug violations/using equipment-paraphernalia. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 27, of 180 Hudson Cajah Mountain in Hudson, was charged with failure to appear on charges of shoplifting, carrying a concealed weapon and injury to property. She was held under a $5,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.

ARREST: A male suspect, 41, of 10406 U.S. Highway 421 N. in Zionville, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor assault and battery and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 29

INCIDENT: Malicious conduct by a prisoner was reported at the Watauga County Jail after an inmate assaulted a detention officer by biting her arm.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 3236 Russ Cornett Road in Boone after a suspect shot out the window of a backhoe. Damage valued at $500 to heavy construction equipment was reported.

INCIDENT: Larceny and breaking and entering were reported at 270 Pebble Lane in Todd. The following items were reported stolen: Miscellaneous tools valued at $500, one target shooting box valued at $100, one DC Superman comic book valued at $200, ratchet straps valued at $50 and a Poland chainsaw valued at $250.

INCIDENT: Drug violations (equipment/paraphernalia) were reported at 140 Hayes Welborn Road in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 368 N.C. Highway 105 Bypass Unit 3. A 6×12 utility trailer valued at $1,200 was reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 197 Butts Camp Road in Blowing Rock. Items reported stolen include a generator valued at $3,000, two deck chairs valued at $340 and a deck table valued at $75.

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 1280 Old John’s River Road in Blowing Rock, was charged with felony larceny. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 29, of 704 Tater Hill Road in Zionville, was charged with felony larceny. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 200 Donnie’s Drive in Boone, was charged with assault on a female. He was held under a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

May 30

INCIDENT: An unattended death was reported at 421 River Road 1 in Banner Elk.

ARREST: A male suspect, 29, of 346 Pine Oak Lane in Dunn, was charged with felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a firearm by a felon, larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering a motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods or property. He was held under a $50,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 55, of 1238 Raven Rock Road in Boone, was charged with driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

May 31

INCIDENT: Traffic and drug violations were reported on the N.C. Highway 105 Bypass near Caldwell Community College in Boone.

INCIDENT: Trespassing was reported at 880 Fallview Lane in Boone.

INCIDENT: Non-physical assault was reported at 151 Seven Oaks Road in Boone after a suspect communicated threats online.

ARREST: A female suspect, 27, of 479 Oak Grove Circle in Jefferson, was charged with driving with a revoked license.

ARREST: A male suspect, 51, of 338 Brook Hollow Road in Boone, was charged with drug violations, providing fictitious information to an officer and failure to appear on charges of shoplifting and concealment of goods. He was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 47, of N.C. Highway 105 Bypass, was charged with resisting a public officer. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 1

INCIDENT: Larceny and vandalism were reported at 148 Oliver Hill Road in Banner Elk.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 234 Holly Hills in Boone.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 357 Bairds Creek Road in Vilas.

ARREST: A male suspect, 31, of 476 Hardaman Circle in Boone, was charged with all traffic. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 4116 Falling Oak Lane in Gastonia, was charged with indecent exposure, resisting a public officer and breaking or entering. He was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 33, of 149 Green Acres Drive in Boone, was charged with failure to pay child support. She was held under a $150 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.

ARREST: A male suspect, 36, of 185 Alex Wellborne Road in Deep Gap, was charged with communicating threats. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 10.

May 25

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at the Town of Boone water tank, 354 Church St. at 4:40 a.m.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 300 Go Pioneers Drive at 9:20 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. Vandalism was reported at the same address at 3 p.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 276 Watauga Village Drive in a parking lot just before 3 p.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle was reported at 140 Appalachian Drive just after 6:40 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 247 Meadowview Drive Apt. 9, was charged with failure to appear on charges of driving with a revoked license. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 29.

ARREST: A male suspect, 28, of 199 North St., was charged with failure to appear. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 15.

ARREST: A male suspect, 49, was charged with simple affray. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Items reported stolen from 276 Watauga Village Drive include: U.S. currency, five credit/debit cards and a brown ladies’ wallet.

May 26

INCIDENT: Arson was reported at 165 Robin Lane in a parking lot just after 12:45 a.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering, criminal damage to property, larceny and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at 202 Horn in the West Drive at 7:50 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 57, was charged with communicating threats, escape from custody or resisting arrest, fighting (affray) and intoxicated and disruptive. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court on May 26.

ARREST: A female suspect, 38, of 10406 U.S. Highway 421 N., was charged with resisting a public officer and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A blue pry bar was reported stolen from 202 Horn in the West Drive.

May 27

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported at 130 Birch St. Apt. 1 just after 2:15 a.m.

INCIDENT: Criminal damage to property was reported at Plymouth Trace Apartments, 247 Hardin St., just after 10:20 a.m.

INCIDENT: Motor vehicle theft was reported at Watauga Village Apartments, 165 Robin Lane just after 2:10 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 41, of 165 South French Road in Asheville, was charged with parole and probation violations. He was held under a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.

STOLEN PROPERTY: An automobile was reported stolen from Watauga Village Apartments, 165 Robin Lane.

May 28

INCIDENT: Criminal damage to property was reported at 329 Meadow Hill Drive Apt. 31 at 12:15 p.m.

INCIDENT: Multiple larcenies were reported at Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living, 287 Bamboo Road, just before 1:45 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 56, was charged with larceny. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 26, of 588 N.C. Highway 105 Bypass Apt. 1, was charged with concealment of goods and misdemeanor larceny. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 29

INCIDENT: Multiple reports of consuming alcohol underage, criminal damage to property, possession of an open container and resisting arrest were made at 1852 N.C. Highway 105 just before 12:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Counterfeiting was reported at 1023 Blowing Rock Road just after 9:50 a.m.

INCIDENT: Forgery was reported at Walmart, 200 Watauga Village Drive, just before 4:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 219 Green St. Apt. 17 just after 10:40 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 16, of 224 Rabbit Run Road, was charged with consuming alcohol underage, criminal damage to property, possession of an open container and resisting, delaying or obstructing arrest. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 50, of 111 Paul Critcher Road, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations.

ARREST: A male suspect, 68, of 162 Pond Creek Road, was charged with all traffic (except DWI) and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 35, of 3606 N.C. Highway 194, was charged with giving malt beverage to a person less than 21 and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 30

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 178 W. King St. just after 12:50 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported on Oak Street just after 2:20 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 11861 U.S. Highway 221, was charged with careless and reckless driving and driving while impaired.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 199 Windy Drive #7, was charged with driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

May 31

INCIDENT: Blocking a pedestrian crosswalk, child abuse (non-assaultive), driving while impaired, failure to obey traffic device specifying lane, failure to stop at the appropriate spot, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of open container of alcohol were reported on Hardin Street at 5:10 a.m.

INCIDENT: Non-physical assault was reported at 133 Boone Docks St. #7 just after noon.
ARREST: A male suspect, 32, of 2264 Cold Springs Road, was charged with possession of paraphernalia, child abuse, open container and aid and abet DWI. He was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 32, of 184 McElyea Road, was charged with driving while impaired. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 151 Howard Street #210, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.
