Weekly Crime Reports: Activity Reported Around the High Country, June 3 – 15

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following were provided by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

June 3

INCIDENT: Fraud/obtaining money or property by false pretense was reported at pharmacies in Boone.

ARREST: A female suspect, 19, of 202 Lofty View in Deep Gap, was charged with embezzlement. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 6.

June 6

INCIDENT: Simple possession of schedule II, schedule III and schedule VI controlled substances were reported at 605 Church Hollow Road in Boone. Items seized include roxycodone, hydrocodone, marijuana, three glass smoking pipes, a marijuana grinder, cut straws and a lighter.

June 8

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 426 Horney Road in Newland, was charged with driving while impaired and no operator’s license. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 51, of 139 Laurel Reach Lane in Boone, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 31, of 605 Church Hollow Road in Boone, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule III controlled substance and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. He was held under a $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 9

INCIDENT: Stalking and harassing phone calls were reported at a hotel.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Fletcher’s Cycle Center, 8483 U.S. Highway 421 N. in Vilas. A Pepsi drink machine was reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering was reported at 377 Ravens Ridge Circle in Boone.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 128 Bryant Combs Road in Sugar Grove.

ARREST: A female suspect, 35, of 397 Charlie Hicks road in Banner Elk, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations. She was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.

June 10

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 265 SPI Road in Deep Gap.

ARREST: A female suspect, 38, of 800 Ragan Road in Trade, Tennessee, was charged with worthless checks and an order for arrest for failure to appear. She was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 29, of 293 Claude Isaacs Road in Elk Park, was charged with driving while license revoked/impaired revocation. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 11

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at 428 Maple Ridge Drive in Boone. Items reported stolen include a Wells Fargo banking ledger and checkbook valued at $10 and a business contact ledger valued at $20.

ARREST: A felony governor’s warrant for extradition was issued on a female suspect, 52, of 8173 Old U.S. Highway 421 in Zionville.

June 12

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 370 Meadow Ridge Unit 33 in Boone.

INCIDENT: An unattended death was reported at 1217 Bamboo Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at Dollar General in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: A domestic violence protection order was violated at 113 Lawrence Greene Road in Deep Gap.

ARREST: A male suspect, 31, of 476 Hardaman Circle in Boone, was charged with violating a domestic violence protection order. He‘s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 38, of 2240 Blowing Rock Road Unit 1 in Boone, was charged with order of arrest for failure to appear. He was held under a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 35, of Asheville, was charged with failure to appear on charges of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana up to ½ oz. He was held under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 29, of 293 Red Maple Lane in Boone, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations. She was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.

June 13

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 238 Devonwood Drive in Boone after tenants took property when they moved out. Items reported stolen include: two brand new power drills valued at $200, a chainsaw valued at $100, a set of wrenches, multiple power cords valued at $100, a weed eater valued at $200, a set of screwdrivers, multiple gallons of paint and stain valued at $100 and caulking valued at $100.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 476 Hardaman Circle in Boone. Items reported stolen include an LG stereo valued at $1,500, a TV valued at $2,000, an LG cellphone valued at $150 and keys and a keychain valued at $20.

June 14

INCIDENT: Vandalism and trespassing were reported at Radford Quarry, 5605 Bamboo Road in Boone. Vehicle parts and accessories were reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Calls for service and assistance of Highway Patrol were reported at Cranberry Creek Lane and U.S. Highway 421 N. in Zionville after a subject resisted arrest.

INCIDENT: A civil dispute was reported at 470 and 505 Eagle Drive in Boone.

ARREST: A male suspect, 18, of 1509 North Fork Road in Zionville, was charged with driving after consuming under 12 and traffic violations.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 1509 North Fork Road in Zionville, was charged with subject to an impairing substance when serving as a supervising driver, being less than 21 did possess malt beverage and permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance.

June 15

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 5880 U.S. Highway 321 S. in Blowing Rock.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 5815 N.C. Highway 194 S. in Banner Elk.

INCIDENT: Suspicious activity was reported at 221 Cool Water Creek in Vilas.

ARREST: A male suspect, 41, of 144 Leafy Lane in Boone, was charged with driving while license revoked and displaying an expired registration plate. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

June 8

INCIDENT: Vandalism and using weapons (illegal discharge) was reported at 1500 Blowing Rock Road.

INCIDENT: Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported at 1855 Blowing Rock Road.

INCIDENT: Blackmail/extortion was reported at U.S. Buildings, 355 Industrial Park Drive.

INCIDENT: Phone threats were reported at 567 W. King St.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 6181 U.S. Highway 421 N. Apt. 4, was charged with communicating threats, criminal damage to property, breaking and entering and simple assault. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

ARREST: A female suspect, 18, of 663 Doe Branch Road in Zionville, was charged with assault of an officer and escape from custody or resisting arrest. She was held under a $750 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

STOLEN PROPERTY: An Apple iPad and an HP 820 Elite laptop were reported stolen from 1855 Blowing Rock Road.

June 9

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 271 North Woods Road, was charged with driving while license revoked. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.
June 10

INCIDENT: Larceny (electric meter) was reported at 274 Howard St.

INCIDENT: Calls for service (meter mayhem) were reported at 742 W. King St.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 211 Milton Brown Heirs Road.

ARREST: A female suspect, 40, was charged with trespassing. She was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 11

INCIDENT: A lost wallet was reported at 1800 Blowing Rock Road.

INCIDENT: Communicating threats and harassing telephone calls were reported at 133 Boone Docks St. Apt. 7.

INCIDENT: Burglary was reported at 133 Boone Docks St. Apt. 7.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Antique spoons, headphones and money/cash were reported stolen at 133 Boone Docks St. Apt. 7.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 247 Hardin St. H1, was charged with assault inflicting serious injury. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 29, of 400 Mast Gap Road, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violation. She was held under a $2,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 27.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 118 Wildwood Drive, was charged with fighting (affray). He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 323 Green Turtle Dr., was charged with fighting (affray). He was held under a $2,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 12

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 138 S. Water St.

INCIDENT: Criminal damage to property was reported at 579 Greenway Road.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 130 New Market Blvd.

INCIDENT: Physical assault and intoxication/disruptive behavior were reported at 122 S. Depot St.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, was charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering. He was held under a $12,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 166 Windy Drive, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of cocaine. He was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 47, was charged with intoxicated and disruptive and assault. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A Volkswagen key was reported stolen at 130 New Market Blvd.

June 13

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 1180 Blowing Rock Road.

INCIDENT: Maintaining a vehicle and possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance were reported at E. King St. and New Market Blvd.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 12105 Carolina Oak Circle in Charlotte, was charged with left of center and driving while impaired.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 3393 N. Old Wire Road in Shannon, was charged with overcrowded vehicle and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 270 Gloucestershire Road in Winston-Salem, was charged with left of center, driving after consuming/provisional licensee and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 31, of 512 Browns Chapel Road, was charged with simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and speeding. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 39, of 2894 Old U.S. Highway 421 S., was charged with maintaining a vehicle and possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance. She was held under a $4,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 17, of 577 Fletcher Branch Road, was charged with driving while impaired/provisional licensee and lane control. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Cash and a wallet containing property of a victim were reported stolen at 1180 Blowing Rock Road.

June 14

ARREST: A male suspect, 26, of 1582 Gores Landing Road SW in Ocean Isle Beach, was charged with failure to maintain lane control and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 49, of 209 Sunset Drive, was charged with failure to stop at steady red light and driving while license revoked. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.
