Weekly Crime Reports: Activity Reported Around the High Country, June 25 – 29

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

June 3

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at various pharmacies in Boone when subjects obtained narcotics by fraud.

June 23

INCIDENT: Missing persons and kidnapping were reported at 1251 Brookshire Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 150 Rippling Water Lane Unit 1 in Blowing Rock. Damage ($300) was reported to a meter box.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Curiosity Consignment Warehouse, 3100 N.C. Highway 105 S. Unit 2 in Boone.

June 24

INCIDENT: Damage to property was reported at 349 Knollwood Drive in Boone after the side mirror of a Honda CRV was broken and smashed. Damage ($100 value) was reported.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 107 New River Crossing in Boone after a victim’s information was used to get a credit card.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 149 Hensels Lane.

June 25

INCIDENT: Runaway juvenile was reported at 149 Red Maple Lane in Boone.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at 469 Grandfather Road Unit 3 in Banner Elk. Prescription medications were reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Simple assault was reported at 2903 Browns Chapel Road in Boone. Damage valued at $500 (scratch in the driver door of a Lincoln/MK2) was reported.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 6901 Windyrush Road in Charlotte, was charged with failure to appear on charges of driving with a revoked license and failure to stop. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 15.

ARREST: A male suspect, 36, of 125 Eldridge Lane in Mountain City, was charged with failure to appear on charges of larceny and probation violation. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.

ARREST: A male suspect, 35, of 5150 Sink Valley Road in Butler, was charged with failure to appear on charges of larceny. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

June 26

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 141 Makers Lane in Boone.

INCIDENT: Larceny and trespassing were reported at 1198 Teaberry Hills Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: A missing person was reported at 130 Monteagle Drive in Boone.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 207 Grovers Knob in Blowing Rock. $1,000 in damage was reported to landscaped property and posts.

June 27

INCIDENT: Non-criminal detainment (involuntary commitment) was reported at 236 Cara Lane in Boone.

INCIDENT: Drug violations/paraphernalia were reported at 2379 Orchard Road in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: Trespassing and assault on a female were reported at 166 Parkwood Circle in Boone.

INCIDENT: Larceny and breaking and entering were reported at 570 Camp Joy Road in Zionville. Items reported stolen include a table and chairs valued at $6,000.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 13701 Sledge Road in Charlotte, was charged with second degree trespassing and assault on a female. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 259 Furman Road Apt. 113 in Boone, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A female suspect, 34, of 280 Bear Creek Lane in Deep Gap, was charged with felony drug violations, misdemeanor drug violations and equipment/paraphernalia. Klonopin/other drugs were seized. She was held under a $5,750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 37, of 505 Eagle Drive in Boone, was charged with simple physical assault. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 421 U.S. Highway 321 N. in Vilas, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

June 28

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 120 Valley Creek Lane in Banner Elk after an offender placed a hidden camera in a residence to observe victims.

INCIDENT: Fraud (wire/computer/other) was reported at 1579 Shulls Mill Road after an offender used the victim’s information in an attempt to make a purchase.

June 29

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at High Country Recycling, 8468 U.S. Highway 421 N. Damage was reported to a Ford box truck valued at $1,600.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 174 Lovie Presnell Road in Banner Elk. $200 in Oxycodone was reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 588 N.C. Highway 105 Bypass Unit 2. Damages valued at $40 (metal door handle and dead bolt lock) and $100 (wooden door frame) were reported.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 1951 Stone Mountain Road in Vilas.

ARREST: A female suspect, 27, of 160 Old Burg, was charged with felony parole and probation violations. She was held under a $50,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17.
