Weekly Crime Reports: Activity Reported Around the High Country, April 27 – May 4

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following were reported by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

April 27

INCIDENT: Burglary/non-forced entry and larceny were reported at 849 N.C. Highway 105 Bypass in Boone just after 3:30 p.m. Money/cash was reported stolen. A GMC vehicle was stolen and recovered

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, was charged with felony safecracking, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was placed under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27,of 167 Laurel Reach Road in Boone, was charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, burglary and larceny after breaking and entering. He was placed under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

April 28

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 1113 Justus Road in Banner Elk just before 9 a.m. Three tractor buckets of gravel were reported stolen.

April 29

INCIDENT: Criminal damage to property and trespassing were reported at 476 Hidden Pond Road in Boone just after noon. The report indicates that a suspect knocked over a fence post, moved a land plot stake and cut grass on the property. One fence post was damaged.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larcenies from a motor vehicle were reported at 217 Edgecliff Lane Apt. 6 in Boone just before 11 p.m. A grey North Face jacket, a Cannon Rebel digital camera with lens, a laptop computer with detached hard drive, a state employees debit card with photo ID, a North Carolina drivers license and four Nitrofurantoin tablets were reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Attempted breaking and entering and criminal damage to property were reported at 189 Parkwood Circle in Boone just after 9:30 p.m. after a suspect attempted to gain entry into the residence. An exterior window screen was damaged.

INCIDENT: Assault was reported at 4092 N.C. Highway 105 South Unit 01 in Boone just before 12:15 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 34, of 87 Lincoln Ave. in Marion, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.

ARREST: A male suspect, 28, of 1297 N.C. Highway 105 S in Vilas, was charged with felony conspiracy to possess precursor chemicals. He’s scheduled to appear in court on May 21.

April 30

INCIDENT: Assault was reported at 300 Davis Ridge in Banner Elk just before 5:30 p.m. Reports indicate that a suspect slapped a juvenile across the face.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Dollar General, 4546 U.S. Highway 421 in Vilas just after 9 p.m.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 224 George Wilson Road in Boone just before 3 a.m. (seizure call resulting in cardio pulmonary resuscitation)

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 137 Cumberland Green Drive in Cary, was charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny from a motor vehicle. He was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 1

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at Wells Fargo in Boone just after 4 p.m. The report indicates that a daughter was taking advantage of, and possibly abusing, her elderly mother.

INCIDENT: Credit card/ATM fraud was reported at 574 Hattie Hill Road in Vilas just before 11:30 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 39, of 1064 Linville Creek Road in Vilas, was charged with assault and battery. He was placed under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 216 Plato Drive in Fleetwood, was charged with communicating threats. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

ARREST: A male suspect, 32, of 288 H. Stanley Miller Road in Deep Gap, was charged with driving while license revoked-impaired and communicating threats. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 164 John Miller Road in Fleetwood, was charged with physical assault and injury to personal property. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

May 2

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported at University Nissan, 135 Innovation Drive in Boone, at 11:40 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported after a driver drover through a fence and left the scene at 1655 N.C. Highway 194 North in Boone just before 2:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Burglary/forcible entry was reported at 242 Blackberry Road in Boone just after 1:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Burglary/non-forced entry was reported at 180 Parkwood Circle in Boone just before noon. One butterfly knife, one hookah and five Grateful Dead wine bottles were reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Property damage was reported at 1655 N.C. Highway 194 in Boone just before 1:45 p.m. The report indicates that a driver lost control of a car and ran through the fence at the Water Wheel RV Park. Four wooden fence posts and 12 wooden fence rails were damaged.

INCIDENT: Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported at 5278 Bethel Road in Sugar Grove at 9:20 a.m. after a suspect removed a North Carolina license plate from a car.

INCIDENT: Larceny, breaking and entering and vandalism were reported at 2229 Watauga River Road in Sugar Grove just before 3:45 p.m. The report indicates that a suspect kicked in the door and removed items from within. A 46-inch flat screen Samsung TV and a wooden and glass door and frame were reported stolen.

May 3

INCIDENT: Suspects reportedly took items from a mailbox and opened envelopes at 640 Knollwood Drive in Boone just after 9:22 a.m.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at a party at 179 Fox Trot Lane in Vilas just after 7:30 p.m.

May 4

INCIDENT: Driving while impaired was reported on U.S. Highway 421 in Boone at 1:24 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of Meadow Hill Drive Apt. 62 in Boone, was charged with failure to pay child support. He was held under a $2,328 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 18, of 6206 U.S. Highway 221 South in Blowing Rock, was charged with assault. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

May 5

ARREST: A female suspect, 41, of 417 Barnett Drive Lot 3 in Kingsport, Tennessee, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations. She was held under a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 30.

April 27

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 1864 Old U.S. Highway 421 S just after 4:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 287 Bamboo Road Apt. C-3 just after 6:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 324 Meadow Hill Drive #54 just after 11 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 37, of 520 Arlington Circle in Lenoir, was charged with providing fictitious information to an officer and failure to appear. She was held under a $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 25, of 321 Madison Ave. #205, was charged with failure to appear, providing fictitious information to an officer, unsafe movement and driving with a revoked license. She was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A J. Crew wallet, money/cash, a social security card, a N.C. driver’s license, a Bank of America credit card, a Bank of America debit card and a T.J. Maxx credit card were reported stolen from 1864 Old U.S. Highway 421 S just after 4:30 p.m.

April 28

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering were reported at 591 Horn in the West Drive just after 10:20 a.m.

INCIDENT: Credit card/ATM fraud was reported at Wells Fargo, 958 Blowing Rock Road, just after 11 a.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Watauga High School, 300 Go Pioneers Drive at 3:15 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 25, of 2478 W. Mill Creek Road in Warrensville, was charged with resisting an officer. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 481 Iron Works Road in Reidsville, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 12.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A fire extinguisher was reported stolen from 591 Horn in the West Drive just after 10:20 a.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Money/cash was reported stolen from Wells Fargo, 958 Blowing Rock Road, just after 11 a.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A $100 bill was reported stolen from Watauga High School, 300 Go Pioneers Drive, at 3:15 p.m.

April 29

INCIDENT: Larcenies were reported at 250 Oak St. Apt. G-8 just after 10 a.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Rent-A-Center, 173 New Market Centre, just before 2 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 139 Bear Trail at 2 p.m.

INCIDENT: Liquor law violations were reported at Watauga High School, 300 Go Pioneers Drive, at 10:30 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 24, of 562 Nikanor Road in West Jefferson, was charged with failure to maintain lane control and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 1406 Little Road in Newton, was charged with resisting an officer and possession of a schedule II controlled substance. She was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 22, of 420 Winebarger Road in Deep Gap, was charged with felony possession of heroin and maintaining a vehicle for keeping and selling narcotics. She was placed under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 134 Beck Court in Boone, was charged with maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute a schedule I controlled substance.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Oxycodone and acetaminophen were reported stolen from 250 Oak St. Apt. G-B just after 10 a.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A Samsung cell phone and a Samsung Note 3 cell phone were reported stolen from 173 New Market Centre just before 2 p.m.

April 30

INCIDENT: Fraud/worthless checks were reported at the ABC Store, 2067 Blowing Rock road, at 9:40 a.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering of motor vehicles and larcenies from motor vehicles were reported at 1395 W. King St. just after 10 a.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at 111 Bradford Lane just after 11:20 a.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at 110 Pinnacle Woods Drive just after 4 p.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 461 Howard St. just before 5 p.m.

INCIDENT: Consuming alcohol by persons under 21 years old, as well as damage to real property, were reported at 287 Hardin St. #205 just before 11:20 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 137 Cumberland Green Drive in Cary, was charged with larceny and breaking and entering a motor vehicle. He was placed under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Alcoholic beverages were reported stolen from 2067 Blowing Rock Road at 9:40 a.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A men’s ball cap, a men’s Casio watch, an iPhone 5C, a Vera Bradley ID Card Holder with flowers on it and a TomTom GPS were reported stolen from 1395 W. King St. just after 10 a.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A TI-83 calculator, a backpack, a Meade binder and an art history textbook were reported stolen from 111 Bradford Lane just after 11:20 a.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses and a Linville Ridge T-Shirt were reported stolen from 110 Pinnacle Woods Drive just after 4 p.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: An Acer Aspire computer hardware/software was reported stolen from 461 Howard St. just before 5 p.m.

May 1

INCIDENT: Trespassing was reported at the Hospitality House, 338 Brook Hollow Road, just before 10:15 a.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 179 Howard St. just after 11:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Damage to property was reported at 501 Meadowview Drive Apt. D301 just after 12:45 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 58 Montford Drive in Belle Mead, was charged with exceeding the posted speed limit and driving while impaired. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 37, was charged with trespassing. He was placed under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.

ARREST: A male suspect, 35, of 846 Main St. in Blowing Rock, was charged with failure to maintain lane control and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Keys, a Sony camera/optical equipment, a Windows phone, money/cash, a purse/handbag/wallet and an alligator finish purse/handbag/wallet were reported stolen from 179 Howard St. just after 11:30 a.m.

May 2

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at Watauga High School, 300 Go Pioneers Drive, just after 1 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported on Madison Avenue just after 7:45 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 19, of 409 Hidden Cellars Drive in Holly Springs, was charged with provisional licensee. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 47, of 144 Ridge Point Drive in Boone, was charged with driving while impaired. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 3

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 471 W. King St. just after 12:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 287 Hardin St. just before 3 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 216 Grand Blvd. in Boone, was charged with physical assault upon an officer. He was placed under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.
