Weekly Crime Reports: Activity and Arrests in Boone and Watauga County, March 21 – 28

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following were provided by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

March 21

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 192 Johns Lane in Zionville.

INCIDENT: Simple possession of marijuana, DWLR and expired registration were reported at 2228 Old U.S. Highway 421 S in Boone.

March 22

INCIDENT: Possession of a concealed weapon was reported at 295 Rush Branch Road in Sugar Grove.

March 23

INCIDENT: Damage to property was reported at 132 Boone Circle Unit 1 in Boone.

INCIDENT: Simple physical assault was reported at 1421 Brownwood Road in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: Simple physical assault was reported at 174 Greenwood Lane in Boone.

March 24

INCIDENT: Assault by strangulation, assault on a female, communicating threats were reported at 230 Foxtrot Lane in Vilas.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 848 Slabtown Road in Zionville.

ARREST: A female suspect, 48, of 823 Buck Mountain Road in Roan Mountain, Tennessee, was charged with violation of domestic violence order and is scheduled to appear in court on May 24.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 230 Fox Trot Lane Apt. 2 in Vilas, was charged with assault on a female and communicating threats and is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.

March 25

INCIDENT: Motor vehicle theft, vandalism and larceny were reported at 1261 Roby Greene Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: An unattended death was reported at725 Howard Edmisten Road in Sugar Grove.

ARREST: A male suspect, 30, of 801 Watauga River Road in Sugar Grove, was charged with unauthorized use of motor vehicle and is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.

ARREST: A male suspect, 45, of 665 Slabtown Road in Zionville, was charged with order for arrest for failure to appear.

March 26

INCIDENT: Simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and drug violations were reported at 2702 N.C. Highway 105 S in Boone.

INCIDENT: Damage to property was reported at 366 Hodges and Miller Road in Blowing Rock.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 512 Locust Hill Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 4000 Penley Road in Lenoir.

INCIDENT: Possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and driving without two headlamps were reported at 240 N.C. Highway 105 Extension in Boone.

ARREST: A female suspect, 26, of 1248 Barclay Manor Way in Raleigh, was charged with parole and probation violations. She was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 11.

March 27

INCIDENT: Assault on a female was reported at 4701 Elk Creek Road in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: PWIMSD Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were reported at Bamboo and Greenbriar roads.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at D&B Mini Mart, 12087 U.S. Highway 421 N in Zionville.

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported at West End Pantry, 1220 W. King St. in Boone.

INCIDENT: Burglary was reported at 319 Will Perry Road in Vilas.

ARREST: A male suspect, 34, of 145 Creisles St. in Newland, was charged with parole and probation violations. He was held under a $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 28, of 136 Liberty Greens Trail in Vilas, was charged with school attendance law violation and failure to pay fines. She was held under a $359 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 28.

ARREST: A female suspect, 23, of 4465 N.C. Highway 194 N in Boone, was charged with felony PWISMD meth. She was held under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 16.

March 28

INCIDENT: Larceny from motor vehicle was reported at 153 Aldridge Park in Banner Elk.

INCIDENT: Simple physical assault and vandalism were reported at 140 Banner Mobile Park.

INCIDENT: Assault by pointing a knife was reported at 360 Troy Norris Road in Boone.

ARREST: A female suspect, 53, of 222 Buttermilk Road in Trade, Tennessee, was charged with DWI and is scheduled to appear in court on May 16.
