On Friday, Sept. 12, Campus ministries at Appalachian State University are organizing a prayer walk on campus. The walk begins at 9:45 p.m. and begins at Legends parking lot. Several groups will be walking in different directions and “stopping at significant places around campus” to pray. See post at “Find Anna Marie Smith” Facebook page.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, friends of Anna Marie Smith will hold a candle light prayer at Creekside Park in Archdale, the hometown of Anna Marie Smith. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.

“We want it to be HUGE. We want the whole community to come together to pray for the beautiful Anna Smith. SOUTHERN GUILFORD 2014 graduates, current students, former teachers, friends, family and anyone else who would like to come to pray and fellowship for Anna are all welcome!” a Facebook post of the event reads.

Contribute financially:

Since Anna Marie Smith went missing on Sept. 2, the family has been looking for her nonstop. A family spokesman mentioned that the employers of Dan and Laurie Smith, the parents of Anna, have been gracious enough to allow them to miss work. However, expenses regarding the search – gas, lodging, food and other bills – are adding up.

A GoFundMe.com fundraiser is ongoing to help the family pay for these bills. So far only $320 of a $15,000 goal has been raised. Check out the fundraising campaign website for more information and to donate.

Help search!

Two days ago, the family of Anna noted the many requests from people who expressed a willingness to help. The family has conducted endless searches, concentrating on “all and around” the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking trails in nature because of Anna’s love of the outdoors.

The family said that it would be grateful if folks focused on the Mountain-To-Sea Trail in a Facebook Post.

““Mountain-to-Sea Trail extends from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks, stopping at many of North Carolina’s most beautiful places along the way. Although we don’t have a specific indication that this is where Anna may be, mother’s intuition has prompted us to ask for your help along this trail. If you are familiar, live close to, or would be able to come to a location along the trail to look, please let the us know.”
