Watauga Sheriff’s Office Makes Two Meth-Related Arrests, Suspects from Mountain City

On Feb. 4, Narcotics Detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals for possessing items used to Manufacture Methamphetamine. Detectives, with the assistance of Boone Police, executed a vehicle stop which ultimately led to the discovery and seizure of Methamphetamine precursors.

methMario Gonzalez, 27, of 337 Crestwood Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683, was charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Possession/Distribution of Methamphetamine Precursors, and 3 counts of Possessing Pseudoephedrine with a Prior Methamphetamine Conviction. Gonzalez was placed under a $100,000 secure bond and is scheduled to appear in Watauga County District Court on March 3, 2016.

Steven Malone, 58, of 337 Crestwood Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683, was charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Possess Precursor Chemicals, and Possession/Distribution of Methamphetamine Precursors. Malone was placed under a $100,000 secure bond and is scheduled to appear in Watauga County District Court on March 3, 2016.
