The Watauga County Board of Education recently announced that it extended Watauga County Schools Supt. Scott Elliott’s contract by two years.
With the extension, Elliott is now under contract through June 30, 2020. Elliott’s salary under his initial contract was $130,000 from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2018.
His new salary, effective July 1, 2016, is $136,000.
Another noteworthy hire was Keana Triplett, who was the 2015-16 N.C. Teacher of the Year. Triplett will join the English faculty at Watauga High School. She is a National Board Certified teacher and has taught English at Ashe County High School since 2015.
