Sept. 6, 2013. The Watauga County Fire Fighters Association has received a grant for Smoke Alarms from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal. The picture above shows Ronnie Marsh President of the Watauga County Fire Fighters Association receiving the smoke alarms from Angie Gryder Gregg, Injury Prevention Specialist with the Office of State Fire Marshal.
Gregg said that any resident of Watauga County could qualify for free smoke alarms by meeting one of three criteria:
- No working smoke alarms in your home.
- Having only one working smoke alarm in your home.
- Your smoke alarm is over 10 years old and needs replacing.
Marsh said to contact your local Fire Department or contact the Watauga County Fire Marshal’s Office at 264-4235 for consultation and instillation of smoke alarms.
