A Watauga County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a shooting in Johnson County, Tenn., just outside of Mountain City on Thursday morning.
Citing, Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece, WJHL.com first reported a “shooting in progress” with the possibility of multiple victims at about 8:30 a.m.
However as a deputy shift report noted and WJHL.com later reported, the incident, which was first deemed an active shooter incident, had been downgraded to a domestic dispute with shots fired by the time the deputy arrived on the scene.
Reece told WJHL.com that the “incident reportedly started as an argument between a father and daughter.”
“Shots were fired at a home on McElyea Road, which prompted a response by sheriff’s deputies. Reece said drugs and a car were seized in the incident. A child in the home was also placed with Child Protective Services.”
In a press release Thursday afternoon, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office charged James Edward Osborne, Brad Price, Jessica Falin and Joshua Carrilo on a variety of charges:
- Osborne charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated assault and domestic assault.
- Price charged with possession of schedule II drugs for resale.
- Falin charged with possession of schedule II drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Carrilo charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
