Matt Klutz (Dec. 27, 1972 – Oct. 3, 2014) 


Mr. Matthew “Matt” Klutz, age 41, of Sugar Grove, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2014.

Mr. Klutz is survived by his wife, Shelly Klutz of the home, two sons, Miles Christian Klutz of Blowing Rock, and Matthew Taylor Klutz and wife Marlis, and one grandson, Jaydon, all of Sugar Grove, his father and mother, Thomas Lee Klutz, Jr. and Ruthelen Hartley Klutz of Blowing Rock.

Mrs. Anglea D. Lehman (March 21, 1945 – Oct. 3, 2014) 

Mrs. Angela Ditzler Lehman, age 69, of Eureka Hills Circle, Boone, passed away Friday evening October 3, 2014 at her home. Born March 21, 1945 in Hanover, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Harold Edward and Martha Smith Ditzler. Angela was a Registered Nurse who worked at Life Care Center of Banner Elk. She was a member of St. Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church. Angela was devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband John Thomas Lehman, one son, Jonathan Lehman and wife Anna, two grandchildren; Thomas and Anna Lehman, seven sisters, and one brother, Margaret Zumbo, Benedict Ditzler, Madeline Small, Anita Klunk, Marie Saghy, Mildred Thomassy, Mary Claybaugh and Joan Kuhn.

Memorial services for Mrs. Angela Ditzler Lehman will be conducted Saturday morning November 15, 2014 at 10:30 at St. Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Dave Brzoska and Rev. Jeff Smith. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Louise Carawan Henries (Oct. 2, 1924 – Oct. 1, 2014)

Louise Carawan Henries, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2014 at Transitions Lifecare Hospice House in Raleigh.


Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Marshall Stewart, Reverend Susan Hobbs, and Reverend Greg Jenks officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

She was a native of Pamlico County, NC and the daughter of the late Thomas L. Carawan and the late Matilda Williamson Carawan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters and her husband, Warren Henries in 1995.

She is survived by her children, Ron Henries and wife Wanda of Boone and Sharon Midgette and husband Joe of Garner; four grandsons, Nate Henries, Dale Henries and wife Shannon, Andy Midgette and Tommy Midgette; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, October 4, 2014 prior to the service at the funeral home.

An Thi Vo (April 20, 1942 – Sept. 28, 2014) 

An Thi Vo, age 72, of Hillandale Drive, Boone, passed away Sunday evening, September 28, 2014, at Watauga Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Sieu Doan of Boone; one son, Vu Doan of Boone, and a granddaughter, Helen Giao.

Funeral services for An Thi Vo will be conducted Wednesday morning, October 1, 2014, at 10:00 o’clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 9:00 until 10:00 o’clock.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, from 9:00 until 10:00 o’clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
