Stella Hodgson Trivette, D. Dec. 16, 2013

Mrs. Stella Hodgson Trivette, age 82, of 583 Jefferson Road, Boone, died Monday, December 16, 2013, at Watauga Medical Center.
Mrs. Trivette was born March 18, 1931 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late A.W. and Pearl Proffitt Hodgson. She was a homemaker and a member of Proffit’s Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Trivette is survived by, one daughter, Dottie Morsette of Boone; three sons, Mike Trivette and wife Brenda, Allen Trivette and wife Jane, all of Boone, and Danny Trivette and wife Bonnie of Cary, North Carolina, and one brother, Bernard Hodgson and wife Elsie of Boone. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Trivette, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Trivette will be conducted Thursday afternoon, December 19, 2013, at 3:00 o’clock, at Proffit’s Grove Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 2:00 until 3:00 o’clock. Officiating will be Reverend Delmar James, Reverend Herbert McCoy, and Reverend Richard Trivette. Burial will follow in Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, from 2:00 until 3:00 o’clock, at the church, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.

Angela Reagan, D. Dec. 16, 2013
Ms. Angela “Angie” Marie Reagan, age 40, of Hwy. 194 S., Todd, passed away Monday evening, December 16, 2013 at home.
She is survived by her daughter, Kayla Chantal Reagan, of the home; her parents, Linda and Robert Osborne, of Baldwin; two brothers, Tony Osborne of Crumpler, and Derek Osborne and Jennifer, of West Jefferson; and her niece and nephew, Luke and Abby Osborne of Glendale Springs.
Memorial services with Military honors for Angela Marie Reagan will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2013, at 2 o’clock at Ashelawn Memorial Park and Gardens, officiated by Rev. Russell Sheets. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Medi-Home Hospice, 400 Shadowline Drive Suite 100-B Boone NC, 28607, to Liberty Baptist Church, in care of Tina Jones, 351 Ray Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694, or to any local veterans support group.

Jay Thrasher, D. Dec. 12, 2013

Mr. Jay William Thrasher, age 99 of Boone, passed away Thursday evening, December 12, 2013 at Hillview Family Care in Todd. Born February 21, 1914 in Moneta, Virginia, he was a son of the late James William and Pearle Crush Thrasher. Mr. Thrasher began working in 1938 for Frigidaire in Virginia, and was made a Division Manager in 1953 in Virginia and West Virginia. In 1955 he transferred to Greensboro as the Division Manager for Central North Carolina. He retired in 1974.
Jay was baptized at Virginia Heights Baptist Church, Roanoke, VA, in March of 1937, and ordained as a Deacon in 1949. He was a member and Deacon at Greenway Baptist Church.
Mr. Thrasher was a member of Gideons International, Boone Camp, for over 27 years and was a Master Mason for over 50 years.
Mr. Thrasher is survived by two sons; David Thrasher and wife Myra of Greensboro and Don Thrasher and wife Phyllis of Boone, one brother, Richard Thrasher of Orlando, Florida, five grandchildren; Kimberly Dennings and husband Mark of Kernersville, Lori Thrasher Resendiz and husband Humberto of Boone, James Thrasher and wife Elesha of Kernersville, Eric Thrasher and wife Jessica of Winston-Salem, and Matt Thrasher and wife Valerie of Whitefish, Montana, and ten great grandchildren; Sharray Thrasher, Sienna and Anesa Thrasher, Jose, Marcos, and Alex Resendiz, Jaden and Rylan Thrasher, Ethan and Keira Dennings. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Anita Pittman Thrasher, and seven siblings.
Funeral services for Mr. Jay William Thrasher will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Greenway Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. David Luster and Rev. Harold Bennett. Masonic Graveside services and burial will follow at Mount Lawn Memorial Park & Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:30 at Greenway Baptist Church. Pearl Ann McGuire, 68, of Winston Salem, NC passed away Wednesday December 11,2013 at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Parlier Sr. and Lena Storie Parlier. Also preceding her in death were brothers John Parlier Jr., Wayne Parlier, James (Jim) Parlier, sister Alma Sumpter and mother and father in law Fred and Gladys McGuire.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her lifetime sweetheart and husband Joe Allen McGuire, sons Jeff(Lori) McGuire of Kernersville,NC, David (Sherry) McGuire of Clemmons,NC, two grandsons Matt and Jacob, brother Mack (Dorothy) Parlier of Elk Park,NC, sisters Jean Cook, Elk Park NC, Mary (Charles) Smith of Valdese NC and a host of very special brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Hampton Funeral Service at 11 am Saturday December 14, 2013 with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Cook family Cemetery in Elk Park NC.

Ms. Linda Faye Glenn Wilcox, age 66, of Boone, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 11th, at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation. Born November 14, 1947 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Glenn and Lena Matheson Glenn. Linda was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and was a retired cashier.
Surviving are her daughter, Rene Nelson of Boone; six grandchildren: Jeffrey Nelson; Amanda Nelson, Koty, Nelson, Heather Nelson, Kayla Wilcox and T. J. Bolling. Three great grandchildren: Kaylee, Kylie and Carter; her mother, Lena Glenn; three sisters, Levita Hicks, Libby Trivette and Lisa Yates; three brothers: Kenneth, Dennis
and David Glenn. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond P. Glenn and two daughters, Kimberly and Beverly Wilcox.
A funeral service for Ms. Linda Faye Glenn Wilcox will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Lawrence officiating.

Willard Lail, age 79, of Robin Street, Connelly Springs, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Valdese General Hospital in Valdese.

Willard was born November 1, 1934 in Burke County, a son of the late Ace Peter Lail and Pauline Pruitt Lail. He was a retired mechanic for Carolina Container.
Willard is survived by five daughters, Lynnette Bollinger and husband Derek, and Heather Huffman, all of Connelly Springs, Krista Smith Ruiz and husband Oscar of Hammond, Louisiana, Judy Lail, and Anita Branch; one son, Randy Lail; one sister, Lottie Mae Buff of Caser, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, James Joe Perry and wife Barbara of Zionville, and Keith Perry and wife Lindel of Boone, and three sisters-in-law, Myrtle Calhoun and husband Chester of Raleigh, Marsha Thomas and husband William of Zionville, and Joanne Perry of Black Mountain. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theda Perry Lail; two sons, Larry Laney Lail and Andrew Bryan Jenkins; one granddaughter, McKenzie Bollinger, and one brother, William Odell Perry.
Funeral services for Willard Lail will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 14, 2013, at 2:00 o’clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:00 until 2:00 o’clock. Officiating will be Reverend Joel Cook and Reverend Mike Webb. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, from 1:00 until 2:00 o’clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
