The splendor and vibrancy of spring in the High Country were brought to life on Saturday as the Watauga County Farmers’ Market re-opened for the 2015 season.
Early risers and shoppers of all ages flocked to Horn in the West to catch up with their neighbors and see what local growers had to offer.
Bright blooming flowers and the fresh fragrances of spring created the perfect environment as friends and neighbors showed up to reconnect and enjoy the market together.
Live music and good food added to the fun, and the PHARMN Kids Corner offered excitement to the littlest of local shoppers.
Returning vendors lined their tables with fresh produce, meats, cheeses, eggs, honey, jams and jellies, baked products and more. Several new vendors set up shop for the first time and introduced themselves and their work to the community.
No need to worry if you missed the festivities, however — you can always catch the next market. It’s hosted every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Horn in the West in Boone.
